Ed001, thoughts on Ralf Ragnick and what you think of him as an appointment for us?

{Ed001's Note - he is the man I would have chosen to go for. He has experience in building a set up from the bottom up and knows exactly how to make football exciting and attractive to watch for the fans - which is something that Man Utd have always been about. It is a shock choice as it seems to be the right one.}

ED, what do you think about him taking on a consultancy role? Do you think he could be overseeing all football matters? I am interested as have heard good things about him and a lot of people seem very excited.

{Ed001's Note - oh is it only a consultancy role? I guess that is better than nothing, as at least he will have good knowledge and experience to give. Personally I would let him oversee the job.}

It is interim for 6 months then the consultancy role for 2 years.

{Ed001's Note - I guess they can't shunt Fletcher out then.}

Well that is what an article I read said anyway? Maybe just a way of them not getting rid of the two they just appointed! Hopefully he could be the man they report too or something like that.

{Ed001's Note - that would be the ideal.}

well fabrizio is suggesting he will have the power to make football decisions

i think its great a step in the right direction which is a shock given our history recently.

{Ed001's Note - that would be the right choice.}

Apparently he will have some level of control over things in his "consultancy" role sounds more like he's the boss for mourtagh and fletcher to learn from.

I know it might not feel great for Fletcher to get essentially demoted, but if that is the role he wants in football it might do him the world of good to learn from Ragnick for a few years.

{Ed001's Note - spot on, there is no one better.}

I mean you can't just shunt people out the door right away. But if they listen and value what Rangnick has to say then the only way people like Murtagh and Fletcher keep their jobs is by excelling at them. If their aren't good enough or things aren't right Rangnick won't be backwards about coming forwards.

As an interim manager and with the consultancy role he has his feet under the table. That is a start.

We ve had LVG and Jose, both could start an argument in an empty house-huge egos, and they say with Rangnick its his way or the highway, he doesn't take any prisoners either in his own low key way so it could be interesting in the dressing room and with the suits if he really has come in to make a difference .

Then we will wake up tomorrow and go it was all a dream.

Seriously I'm delighted at his appointment. It would appear we might be heading in the right direction.

ED002,

Could you elaborate more on Rangnick consultancy role, if you can?

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what they have planned but it will put the nose out of joint of one or two people. As a structure goes it remains a laughing stock - Arsenal is the same. If you look at Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea there is a clear structure and when folks need replacing then they are. Many clubs use advisors.}
