With the continuing development of Old Trafford it looks like they might finally be able to expand the South stand despite the railway issues.
What would everyone like to see added to the stadium to improve the matchday experience, personally I think there should be more fan areas outside and I would love to see statues of the babes lined up like a guard of honour to welcome you to Old Trafford.

I want all standing no prawn sandwiches and the most intimidating atmosphere in England.

I quite like prawn toast, can we have those?

{Ed007's Note - @Patrick Celtic have had a safe standing section for 5 and 1/2 years now mate, I'm 47 and seen the "bad old days" and new modern stadiums and imo there is no danger in the modern standing sections, it's actually seats that can fold down and it's still allocated seats/positions, long gone or the old days of the free for alls that caused a lot of problems back in the day.}

As Ed 7 Says. The days of the open stand with a few bars here and there are long gone thankfully.

Atmosphere is poor. Sack the stupid announcer who drowns the fans with stupid music just before game starts, then kills the music, leaving the stadium in library silence.
Hard to say this, but the Atmosphere at Anfield is in a different league.
Not wishing to sound like a know it all, the Atmosphere in the 70s was fantastic. Everyone got up and sang. Prawn sandwiche brigade and all the hospitality attendants have killed the Atmosphere.
The ground needs a complete overhaul, but that's not going to happen.

AAA,

When did you last go to the game? The music has been stopped for a good 10 minutes before the game for a few seasons now allowing the fans the create the atmosphere before the players come out.

I read somewhere that the average age of someone in the Stretford End back in the 70s was 17, these days its around 50.

Weren't we all more enthusiastic as teenagers and the mellowing with age makes us less raucous during matches or maybe the lack of competitiveness has seen a general moroseness settle in, peppered by moments genuine excitement.

It does make you think in 20 years time if the average age of a Stretford Ender is 70, can we get Saga to sponsor the stand.

Old Trafford is one of the worst grounds for atmosphere in the epl.
Our away fans are great probably the loudest in the league.
AaA. You are bang on a field atmosphere is one if best in Europe.
I only go to about 10 or 12 home games a season Inc 4 or 5 European games.
The European games are better by a fair bit.
Anybody who thinks our fans generate a good atmosphere at OT most of the time need to go and travel to other grounds around UK and Europe to broaden their horizons.

100% Ken, OT atmosphere has always been the same, a lot of home grounds are similar though, when you watch on tv you can usually hear the away fans louder than the home fans. Anfield is loud on big European nights but if you watch normal league games there is no atmosphere at all, they certainly make a difference in them big games though.

It will be interesting to see how they fund the stadium development given we have existing debt. Naming rights on the stadium whilst unwelcome would bring in good funds for such works. Whilst good to see they must not do it on the cheap. Looking at the plans for competitors we need to ensure we have a stadium for the next 30 years where the roof doesn’t leak.

I am one who remembers the team coming out to 2 4 6 8 motorway, but corporate seats where you can walk in at 1 min to kick off mean little build up. They must upgrade the screens and improve the bars to make the in ground experience worth getting into earlier

Have a very happy Christmas everyone.

Gds, I didn't go at all this year, and of course, last year had no fans. I think the announcer has an important part to play. But for years, our announcer has been abysmal. Agree with Ken completely, you just need to go to some of the other grounds and you realise how far we've dropped in terms of atmosphere. I go to Sporting Lisbon games periodically, and the atmosphere is superb. Annfield, West Ham, Brentford all generate great atmosphere. And Dortmund and Bayern in Germany are amazing.
I also think that the players could do a lot more to engage with the fans. Just watch the way the German players thank the fans in unison at the end of games.
Red Man, I used to love singing backman Turner overdrive 2 4 6 8 the reds are great. You could literally feel the ground shaking.
