Evening all,
Anthony now being touted as our first signing- has anyone seen him play?
What’s his attributes? Seen him on YouTube and that’s all
And if he does sign do you think he’ll cut it in the premier league?
Thanks.

All i’ve seen him do is repeatedly lob the ball over his marker and outsprint them. He’ll be up against a different level of fullback if he comes here, but looks a fiddly player.

Well he's an actual RW for a start. Which suggests that Sancho could stay on the left and maybe Rashford will provide the cover for Ronaldo at CF.

He quick, tricky, skillful, a good creator and finisher.

He also knows how EtH sets his team's up, so could be a good signing if he adapts to the EPL well.

Haven’t seen much of him myself but gives off the impression he’s a bit of a show pony from the highlight reels.

Haven't a clue about him.

Shappy, first time I've ever seen you mention him. You been watching a lot of YouTube the last couple of days?

Angel, I watch a lot of football, and watched Ajax at least 10-12 times last season both in Europe and the Eredivisie. I probably watch 6-9 matches of football a week on average.

There are a few teams outside of the EPL I like to watch regularly if I can (Ajax, Sporting and Dortmund in the last 15 years, although in recent years Leipzig are becoming a team to keep an eye on) as they tend to have a history of producing top young players.

We have Sancho, Elanga yet are buying another right winger. Put Sancho on the left I hear people say.

We have a young talent Garnacho, looking at his contract at the moment, where do we see his future if we are buying another winger? Real Madrid are supposedly sniffing around. If we do our usual and blow £40m then see a talent like Garnacho lost it is madness. Unless we are very sure the young Argentine will not make it then buying a winger, another one seems poor, when our budget should be elsewhere. Sorry, if ETH likes Anthony, then are we selling Sancho?

We need to think about young talent like Garnacho in the decision process.

I know mate, only joshing.

I've barely enough time to watch United, envy you.

what about the kid Diallo touted as a tricky winger when we put down half of his 35 mill fee?

I think there's room for Sancho, Antony (both of whom have played on either flank), Elanga and Garnacho. 4 players to alternate in various positions across up to 60 odd games. Plus Rashford on the left as an option and heaven forbid Martial. This is normal, most sides have 5 or so CBs of the required standard but only use 2 at once so the same number of wingers seems logical.

I agree with Red Man, it's a complete waste of 40 million pounds.
We are completely stocked up on wingers, we should be spending that money on a top defensive midfielder that complements Frankie De Jong (if we ever manage to get that signing over the line) .
Defensive Midfielder, Center Back and a Forward is what we desperately need.

But we're not stocked up on wingers. we have Sancho. Elanga has benefitted from the Greenwood situation but has hardly set the team alight. Rashford isn't a winger. Diallo was underwhelming at Rangers. Pellistri is. who knows. Garnacho will get a chance.

Red Man, I think the clear priority needs to be in midfield, then defence.

That said we have Rashford, Sancho and Ronaldo as the only forward options with more than 30 first team appearances.

Three players for three positions leaves us light.

Garnacho looks ready to play some first team football, while Elanga has also done enough last season to expect to be involved more this season.

Considering Rashford's form and Ronaldo's age I think its pretty clear we need another forward option.

I also think that should be a player who plays best from the right hand side given that Rashford has often struggled from the right. While Sancho has played his best football from the left for us, and Elanga and Garnacho are naturally left sided players also.

Not signing a right sided player means expecting Sancho to turn things around and flourish on that side. Or expecting a youngster to step up to first team level and flourish on their weaker side.

I think there is plenty of space to sign another forward AND still find plenty of game time for the likes of Elanga and Garnacho.

Next season we have 38 EPL games, a maximum of 15 EL games, a maximum of 6 FA cup games and a maximum of 6 league cup games potentially giving us a maximum of 65 games next season.

If Ten Hag really rates Antony, which he does, then we should try and get him. Antony likes to stay out wide more than our wingers and Ten Hag likes the FB's to underlap, creating and exploiting space for the wingers. Antony also likes crossing from deeper positions and with it being an in swinger, this is difficult for defenders and GK's. We could see Ronaldo who is very good in the air benefit from Antony playing out wide. He also likes to put in early crosses, something our wingers do not do and last season you could see the frustration in Ronaldo.

Just look at goals he has created for Haller, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Lassina Traoré.

Hopefully Ten Hag can get this from Sancho on the left hand side to complement Antony like Tadic does for Ajax, then we have Elanga and Garnacho as back ups. Rashford back up to Ronaldo and quite frankly I have seen Greenwood's name mentioned a few times, the bloke should not even be given a 2nd look. Give Martial the Fred the Red outfit if we can't sell him!

With you lot the manager will get no say.
But it's most important for the club to keep you happier than the manager.
But I'm guessing you all know our requirements better than eth who is the only one qualified.

If we have to sign a winger then Bowen of West Ham would be a good choice though maybe to much money now. Would have gone for him instead of sancho.

Spenno I don't moan daily about signings and tell everybody exactly what we need.
