I'm with him 100% spenno, but he can't pull rabbits out of a hat.
With the current squad finishing top 4 will be an achievement.
The club should have backed him with signings. There's been none yet.
A few players should've been moved on, none have yet.
This is the same core of players that provided nothing end of last season.
ETH is being given the same window as David Moyes did.
Jose LVG Ole all got atleast 1 window where they splashed money.

Whilst the length this FdJ transfer is going on is baffling I'm still hopeful that it will kickstart a chain of a couple of other transfers afterwards. I never expected a landslide of ins/ outs to the extent Rangnick suggested in one window.
I assume de Jong and EtH speak privately and have a good relationship, and that the player is interested, otherwise ten Hag should have picked up on that within a week or two and moved on. He sees the player as pivotal to the team and how we will play. I really hope it comes off in the next few days as I have no idea what player is next on the CM list.

Shappy, the man's in his first season, the preparation for this moment, for which we had plenty, has been abysmal so far.

Hes days away from pre season and is yet to have his top targets in. Look at City and Liverpool and Spurs. They know what is needed and what has been asked by their manager and have got a lot of their work done early.

Our business this year is following the same pattern of years previous.

I'm not panicking about signings not being made, I know they will be. But God, they could've had them done earlier to give him a better chance.

It's not just signing a player and getting him over the line.
Pre season is really important.
If we get FDJ maybe we play one way if we don't get him we play another way.
Atleast a couple of players should have come in.
The later we go, the more we might panic buy or sign the wrong guy.
Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, City and even Villa and Newcastle are doing much better business than us.
Why does FDJ have to be the first signing?
Can't the first signing be someone else too?
I'd love for Eriksen to join but if he is unsure and wants to go to Brentford then great, let's move ahead.
I would rather sign 5 nobodies from Eredivise, Bundlesliga or French ligue who want to play for us than others who still can't decide.
ETH has been in the Dutch league for a while now, don't tell me there's one non-Ajax player that's worth signing in the whole league?
Even LVG got us Depay.
Stefan De Vrij is available, maybe get him?
Won't be half bad as Inter do challenge for the title.

Gapko, Sangare (PSV), Malacia (Feyenoord) would do nicely from other Dutch teams. Sadly I think LvG has put the frighteners up the Dutch players by hinting they need to be starting to get in his WC squad. I’d argue that there are probably Dutch postmen who’d be starting for us.

Eric - the window is open for 9 weeks further but pre season is upon us. I’m sure Haaland and Nunez will hit the ground running at their clubs because they’ve got chance from Day1 to bond with their new teammates, manager etc and bed in to their new surroundings, buy houses etc. If you’re able to do that in first week of the window has to be more preferable than the last. Everyone’s first competitive game is 6/ 7Aug. It’s not that far away.

Maybe true, but Liverpool and City are the two elite clubs in the league right now and are frankly not our concern this season as we are nowhere near their level in terms of settled manager, team, Squad, and footballing structure behind the scenes as of yet.

The club is clearly working on deals, and frankly I’d prefer us to buy nobody if we can’t get our first choices and promote the promising youth players than buy also rans like we’ve done for years.

Utter drivel now on here. Just calling the club to sign 5 players - sign anyone from anywhere!

What are we saying? The club has identified targets and they are working on deals for those specific targets.

It is obvious that man utd are trying to pay below asking for FDJ. Barcelona, who are in significant financial trouble. Are holding out for the full price. They are playing poker. And all the panic and rubbish from frustrated fans all works in Barca's favour if anything.

The media will fill our lives with rumours and "movement" from all around the league to keep the clicks and back pages going. Stop stressing about it, jeez.

If the club save $6m in guaranteed cash by playing hard ball for 4 weeks is that not good business?

For once maybe man utd is not the club with limitless pockets for signings.

He is apparently the the the No.1 target, the linchpin for the revolution of the squad why are we arguing over a rumoured £15million. Just get it done, boosts the incredibly low moral around Old Trafford and starts restoring some faith that things are beginning to turn around.

I know some argue that we have until 1 Sept, but all managers want their business done early, leaving it so late shows an incredible lack of preparation, and those new players will spend the majority of the season playing catch-up, we have seen it so many times before.

Dodgy, the same fans who blame the club for spending silly money on the likes of Maguire, and who complain that we can't sell our players because they are on inflated wages.

Are the same ones who just want the club to fold and pay an extra 20m to Barcelona for FDJ just to get it done a few weeks earlier. No doubt they won't want the club to negotiate wages either, just pay him what he wants.
