I'm not going to comment on the game. RA has made some very strange comments through this season, and SJR is not the kind of guy to be patient, so one way or another, I expect RA to be gone very quickly after the last game.
We all know the stats since he arrived, add to that his unwillingness to tweak things, and what seems to be an inability to motivate players, even for a final, suggest this was a step too far from him. Continually telling the players they are cr4p and hinting you might resign are all signs that the wat3r is too deep for RA.
I know some will insist we persevere but I ask again, show me one thing he has done since he arrived that gives you any confidence this wasn't a horrible mistake.
Lovely man, massively out of his depth.

I'm not sure why people are surprised by the result, same crap players from previous regimes who can't play in the new managers system, amorim told us when he joined things would get ugly and they certainly have but I'm not going to throw him under the bus like some of you after just 7 months, he needs to be able to get in the players he needs to implement his system, not the dross he's adopted. If by Christmas we can't see any improvements then maybe I'll start to ask questions but until then he deserves a proper pre season and new players and I'm sure unlike a lot of you the new regime will give him that time. Maybe after his and his daft brothers comments tonight garnacho will be 1st out the door, another player who thinks he's better than what he is and is obviously a trouble maker who thinks it's all about him, off you go son won't miss you.
Be interesting to see what the squad is like Sunday, will he pick it based on who won't be around next season? I certainly hope so!

Shouldn't be in charge for the last game. Players are woeful but he is just as bad.
All roads lead to southgate unfortunately.

He needs to go before another penny is invested, or he needs to be backed to the hilt. No middle ground. Trouble. is if he gets half a new team in the window and we’re still awful, we’re stuck with another group of players bought for a specific system.

I think he sacked himself really, the comments the team selection, subs on at 72 minutes. and let's face it, it was plain awful. Again lack of hunger and fight but that's the players, again these muppets have fallen to new depths. my worry is next season. We're use to losing and so are the players, need a lift and a solid start to season or utd are in for more pain. well we are anyway. I'm just numb to it all now, nit even angry. went past that I'm glad there's nothing for 3 months.

His comments last night suggest he wants out. If that’s the case then he has to go. Like u I’ve seen nothing to convince me he’s the man. The club cannot afford to spend this summer on players to suit his niche style only to then sack him b4 Xmas. It could make things even worse. Sadly Tony I agree with u, he’s a great guy but his rigidness and inability to adapt isn’t what we need. Yes we want a style of play but that has to be flexible. Will this cycle ever end.

AJH is spot on. I don’t see any businessman or woman being impressed by Amorim constant waffle and they will be seriously concerned about the results.
I’ve like Amorim from the start but doubted him also.
We had some results against big teams but to me at least it’s individual brilliance that won those matches.
I think we’ve played well once (against XI) under his entire tenure. We’ve played well against 10 men a few times which emphasises the failure of the system.
Amorim has demonstrated since Dec he cannot set a team up to get results or get the best out of the players.
I also passionately hate the 3421, it’s fine for an odd game but it’s not Utd. It also not compatible with the “game model” plan shared Wilcox (all levels play the same style) so we’re going to be stuck with players again that the previous manager wanted but don’t fit the next guys formation.
It’s time to bite the bullet and try again.
I’d get Thomas Frank tomorrow and would expect a few years of progress and the club to be in much better place when he moves on.

Answer me this - who was at fault last season with the same group of players that played in a different system?
Who still couldn’t score in games and showed up every now and again.
Our fan base is laughable.
Lets sack the guy and get another manager in to still not be able to get anything from 80 percent of these are crap
When are people going to actually see this said for what it is.
We lost 14 games last year with the same crap, we’ve lost 4 more this season.
The issue is the players….

Unfortunately there are now more questions about him than answers. I think he is a manager suited to the European leagues and has struggled to adapted to the premier league.
All this nonsense about players not being able to play the system needs to stop, there were so many misplaced passes last night it was unreal, and essentially we had no cutting edge, couldn’t breakdown Spurs, ran out of ideas. We resorted to having to send Maguire up again, it may have been effective in the past but we should have been smarter than that.
Is Amorim the man to take us forward, I’m less convinced than I was in January, but that doesn’t mean he should be sacked. He goes into next season under massive pressure, if the league form continues, as we all know football is a results game and he will be gone by Christmas, same as EtH then then we go for our 1000 reset.

Hit send too early…I get that fizz, but isn’t it worse to spend loads on new signings to fit his style only to then sack him 3/ 4 months later. His style is niche so we could be left with another crop of players who won’t suit another manager. It’s a crap situation to be in and I’m not sure there’s any right answer, or that I trust those making decisions.

It depends what you want.
Dyche could have been appointed and I'm certain we'd have finished quite a bit higher, but it would never go beyond a vague hope of mid-table or a Europa spot.
They obviously feel that once/ if Amorim does click, we'll have the potential to go a step further.
Of course, this result has set us back. I'd say even at least five years. It's the difference between Gyokeres and Delap, and the difference between Bruno staying and probably now eyeing a new challenge. That will please some I'm sure.
There are managers in the Prem who punch above their weight who also play attractive football. Silva/ Iraola for starters.
But he's not going anywhere. right?

Just because finding a replacement is hard doesn't mean we should live with the poor decision that has been made.
Look at Forest since they changed Manager, Coventry, even Leicester who won the League the year after almost being relegated. They show what a change of Manager can deliver.
I wasn't expecting miracles, but I was expecting a bump of sorts, an energy, some upward momentum perhaps, and a Manager who talked sense and instilled confidence. I am seeing none of that. Instead we have a rabbit in the headlights who clearly is stumped about how to improve things, and is talking about resigning.
Same formation every week, it doesn't work but we continue regardless, and players who seemed to be improving are now regressing. Mainoo was a shining light lasy year yet everyone seems to have bought the story that he doesn't have the legs. Utter balderdash.
I just don't see him surviving another month, and rightly so.
{Ed025's Note - im with you AJH..

Blogger it’s not about blind loyalty.
The same group of players performed objectively better under EtH. there's no escaping the data. We’ve regressed.

The guy has to be given a proper window and a proper pre-season. No Europe means plenty of time on the training ground with players he hopefully actually wants.
We all know if by Xmas next season there's no signs of improvement, then he'll be gone.

New poster and a tough read on here. Granted last night was a tough watch and it's been a hard 5 months or so with Ruben but I genuinely can't believe the calls for his head. You have to give him a chance this next season. The situation he came into was a horror show. A declining squad with huge wages and ego alike. He plays a certain system which was alien to just about everybody at Carrington and he even called the storm that was coming and yet people seem to think he is the problem. As a lifelong fan suggesting someone else could come in a do a better job than him is exactly the problem we've encountered since SAF left. Give him time, let him shape the team then judge. We need to stop being entitled. That for me is part of the problem, our fantastic history suggests we should just coast through, rather than adjust to the ever increasing quality and apply ourselves. Not convinced there's a better manager out there.
