We have had a whole summer of posters saying their "sources" have been right before, that they are reliable, that they know all these people "on the inside" and what did we get? Never known so many "Sources" get it wrong. Maybe they are just floating around in some peoples minds.

OT7 Spot on. If someone keeps naming players eventually they would be right! Having worked within the club in a fairly senior position I can state with reasonable knowledge that no-one inside the club other than the manager, CEO and secretary have any concrete knowledge of exactly who and who isn't being signed or bid on. It is very well guarded and released to the press when the time is right. There are several marquee signings that have taken place up to 2 weeks prior to the press being told and allowed to print anything about it. {Ed007's Note - So agents, the players themselves and their friends, family and team-mates don't know anything about any moves? Not to mention people involved at the selling club. The list goes on, I have found out Celtic are going to sign someone through the merchandising/sales department in the past. People talk and love to gossip, it's human nature, the secret is to be very careful when you decide who's information you trust.}

Hi Ed, Sorry, I was only commenting on the original posts reference to someone inside OT, not others from selling clubs, etc as you quite rightly state may leak transfer dealings at any point and for a number of reasons. I can't comment on what goes on at Celtic and how they conduct transfers. {Ed007's Note - It is nothing to do with how any club conducts transfers, it is about how easily information can be leaked out, from any club.}

OK so something got leaked at Celtic, that means nothing at Utd. Not that many people (3 or 4) know anything at Utd. Unless I'm extremely wide of the mark and missed things completely when there and they have changed significantly since Gill and Fergie left, the point I was making was that an agent knowing someone inside OT means nothing and it will be a guess. The only people that know, don't tell within Utd, end of. {Ed007's Note - I wasn't entering a discussion with you, I was correcting you as you were misleading people who read your rubbish.}

I'm not too sure if an "ed" of a site which has recently thrown a massive hissy-fit over the amount of abuse they received should be telling a registered user that he's "talking rubbish" when you have no clue whether he's telling the truth or not.
Perhaps if you're that concerned about him "misleading us" then you shouldn't have posted his comment in the first place?

You can post this so you can flame me if you like. {Ed007's Note - Obviously I do know whether he is telling the truth or not, that's why I corrected him. If we ever need any advice on how to run the sites though we will let you know. You could always go and start your own seeing you know so much about it, but don't as Frank to help, according to him only 3 people at a club ever know the transfer dealings that go on, and none of them are even owners or board members. I can assure you that I have never thrown any fit, hissy or otherwise where as you are that 'hissied' you forgot to finish typing.
Sometimes, it is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt. Maybe that is something you should think about before posting.}
