Well to me, this is news. Although it is not conclusive proof or by any means reliable, it sounds about right to me. Apparently today Moyes locked himself in his office with his senior staff members to talk about what they are doing etc. According to 'insider' reports the level of contempt for Moyes has never been shown towards anyone else at the club and regardless of the Olympiacos result they think that his days are numbered.

This has resonance to me - a defeat against Olympiacos and the likely annihilation that City will hand us will signal the end for him. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the players facilitated this.

Lets be honest, he has never won a thing, we are on 9 losses in the League, no chance of a domestic trophy and no where near good enough for a European trophy. He has lost the players, many of the fans and I imagine a significant majority of the board.

FRESH - Wonderfully written and insightful. Especially "it wouldn't surprise me if some of the players facilitated this".

David Moyes, is like putting a Band Aid on an amputation. it won't help or work

The board have already given him £65 million, in fairness Mata is a brilliant buy but he is used incorrectly and Fellaini was over priced. What is he going to do even if he has £200 million if he doesn't have the current squads backing. He can't get rid of it all.

Mata was a waste of a buy, no need to waste that type of money on someone and play him out of position.
Great player don't get me wrong, but is not what we needed

"stand by your new manager" how times have changed.
United aren't sacking club.
In Moyes we trust.

But who are "we" in your question? I thought for years that Moyes was the right man to pick up after SAF but it is becoming clear that he is paralysed by indecision and caution. Leave aside the players bought, missed and sold, the guy seems to find it impossible to make changes when things are obviously going wrong. Leaving the wrong line-up on the field on Sunday until minute 75 was just not good management. Rodgers taught a lesson and he's not eh first to do so.

I feel for Moyes, he took the team as a lot of veteran greats were coming to the end of fine careers an I don't think the Board saw this type of outcome this season and the money focus will make them throw a very decent man overboard.

I appreciate Fergie's last message to us, i.e. 'stand by your new manager'. I for one have no doubt that Fergie has to share some if not large proportions of the blame for Moyes as he was his man. His man in spite of the fact that he has never won anything yet given the task of managing a team of serial winners. Bottom line is Moyes was a nepotistic appointment of someone without the requisite skillset, experience, charisma or gravitas to be manager of Manchester United FC.

Im sure he's a nice guy but he's just melted in the intense furnace that is managing at OT.

To me it just underscores HOW GOOD Fergie was to continually reinvent the team and get 110% out of everyone.

Fergie will go down from a footballing perspective as being our greatest manager and certainly one of the best, if not the best, of all time. No issue with that. But history will also record on a more personal level some of his judgements have been questionable. Rock Of Gibraltar, support of The Glazers, spats with Stam, Beckham, Keane etc and moreover the appointment of Moyes, i.e. someone he'd known a v long time, are all questionable. Whether we like it or not Moyes is damaging that fantastic legacy that Fergie created.

I appreciate Moyes has not been blessed with the backing of a sh!t hot transfer negotiator or unlimited funds. But there are more fundamental problems - can anyone tell me what our current footballing philosophy is for example?

It pains me to say it as I was really hopefully that if we'd beaten the scousers well we'd get a 'bounce' into the Olympiakos game. A qualifying win there seemingly against the odds and all of a sudden we could be ready to give City's title aspirations a bloody nose.

The exact opposite has happened though. The trapdoor is being prepared under Moyes feet now. I can't see us qualifying past the Greeks and certainly can't see us getting a win v City.

For me we had 3 massive home games in March that Moyes had to win to save his job.

He is already out. Or at least should be. Surely it is just a matter of time now before he's jettisoned and we look for a manager with, to paraphrase David Gill:
- a winning CV
- european experience

Its MoyesOut for me.

Sorry David but the sooner the better.

I think anything less than a win against Olpmpiakos and City and he should be out

8.) 19 Mar 2014
My question to the people of believe in him and thought he was the 'right man for the job'. how did you come up with that thought and with what basis?
Apart from him being SAF friend and a fellow Scotsman. what other reason is there?
