According to David ornstein united are working on a deal to sign amrabat before Friday. Due to FFP the Deal is likely to be a loan with maybe an option/ obligation to buy. Ed02 from what you know is this accurate information?

Loan for Amrabat could mean money for another position. Todibo I hope.

Not sure how a loan deal will work, isn't his contract up next summer?

Maybe he signs a contract extension or 1 year further option is triggered before he leaves on loan so that Fiorentina can earn a fee.

Think they have an extra year option on the contract. I'm guessing but wouldn't they automatically extend the contract, like we have done on a few players to make sure they get a fee for him.

So with Amrabat, Cucurella and Bayindir our last likely signings of the summer, strengthening the squad, has it been a good transfer window for us?

Arsenal did it with Raya I think. Not sure of details. Think Unruly is pretty close.

Fiorentina rejected all loan offers. Not sure if we try an obligation to buy now or if we have any funds to buy him outright. If not then not sure where we go next.

Maybe a move for someone like Kalvin Phillips would be better…. he’s surely on the available list.

That would be INTERESTING but no chance. Ex city and Leeds lol.

Eric, what was your best Calvin Phillips moment last season? I would steer well clear of him. If we cannot afford Amrabat, we cannot afford Phillips.

We have signed plenty of players from both City and Leeds in the past.
I'd say city would be delighted to get shut of Philips. But most on here would not be happy either way. He missed a lot of games through injury since he went there. I'd rather the lad from spurs who looks like a good option imo. Amrabat also looks like it might get done.

Amrabat will be driving this by refusing to play for Fiorentina and insisting on only moving to United.

Now Fiorentina have two options:

1. Insist on a permanent deal at €26m and run the risk of United not being able to finance that, then Amrabat going on strike all season and then being stuck paying his €70k wages all season before he leaves on a free next summer.

2. Accept a rather creative loan deal which will help us out with FFP. Something like a loan deal for a high (for a loan) fee of €15-20m, to be paid after the financial year ends.

We offered a loan fee of £2m in 2 instalments ??? I’m speechless. Surely this can’t be true? Right!

Only positive is that seems Glazers not giving any additional money to transfers.

Maybe they really are going.

Amrabat's contract ends in 2024, however there is an option to extend by the year. So a loan with obligation to buy is easier than the Raya deal. If all parties are on board of course.

No come on Tim that’s a wind up…. I don’t think we value him very highly if that is the case anyway…. seems a lot of people pinning there hopes on him, will he even strengthen the spine of the team, god knows we need it, but is he too lightweight for prem 10 stone wringing wet could be a challenge for DM.

Numerous credible journalists have reported that fee, laughable if true. Why would we even send that bid? Derisory isn’t the word.

It's not about releasing money. The club have a credit facility. It's more about FFP. Not selling McTominay and Maguire has really hurt us. I'm hoping and it is just hope ?, that we will try for Ambarat on loan, then purchase one more player. But we would need to sell Fernandez, Donny, Mengi and Bailly sharpish. I think if we sell McTominay, then we will go for a CB.

Think he’s more like 11 stone, similar or slightly heavier than Rashford and Bruno, they cope alright physically so can’t see that being too much of an issue.

Neither of them are playing DM, so no need for them to have such physicality.
