My argument is go back and watch the game again and hopefully you'll be able to see past your hatred for pogba and realise how well he played. I can take or leave pogba tbh sometimes he's brilliant sometimes he's poor. He made 5 or 6 brilliant forward passes won plenty of midfield battles and was involved in everything on top of his great goal.

gotta agree with the Ed here. It was doing my head in as well with every pundit / commentator drooling over him and asking why can't he produce this for united. Especially when he wasnt good during the game. If France did not have Kante, Pogba may not even make the starting 11.

The game showed the best and worst in pogba. Give him time and space and he will have you on toast. Press him and he is an absolute liability. its because he has little awareness of how the role should be played but has all the skills to be be best midfielder in the world.

He gets so much space and time when playing international football and with Kante next to him he needs to do little defending / running back. its worlds apart in the EPL playing in the role needed of him.

One of the Eds called it long long ago - he will be world class in Serie A or Ligue 1. that's where his best attributes will be more pronounced without his liabilities costing his team.

France have a front 3 that can spin players and make runs. Pogba is great at seeing those runs and executing a pass. United don't have that. Maybe he's just better because he's with a better team.

Nobody having a go at griezeman or mbappe like they are abiut pogba tonight and what about that famed french defence which was conspicuous by its absence.

Pogba is a creative player. Creative players take risks and shouldn't be expected to be defensive masters too.

Deschamps blundered badly with his team selection and tactics and they were lucky not to be 2 0 down in normal time. He was partly let off the hook by the individual brilliance by Benzema and Pogba.

For Pogba to shine provide a solid defensive platform behind him and then he can make passes for the forwards that most of us cannot even see let alone attempt.

Had France defended properly we would be celebrating his skill. I know you can't compare him to Maradona but the principle is the same in that nobody asked Maradona to defend. Even in extra time he was the one french player looking for the killer pass.

By all accounts he is well liked at Old Trafford by the players and staff alike. So why all the vitriol? He wants to play in a winning team and play enjoyable football. Isnr that what Utd are supposed to be about. If he was such a show pony as otbers call him then no top team would want him. But we all know that if he is available for transfer he will go to a top team.

I know he is the type of player who needs players around to shield him but a player with so much potential should have a lot more impact on the pitch on a consistent basis. There is no one stopping him from playing his own game and making the best of his abilities on the pitch.

"nobody asked Maradona to defend" - sure if you say so, but he knew how to fulfill his abilities on the pitch. Pogba has the skillset to be a top player but not the mentality to focus, adapt and use his skills effectively on a more consistent basis.

Even if he goes to a top team it's not going to be for his performances at United, it would be because of his potential. And at the age of 28 when you are still talking of his potential that's not a good reflection of a player.

The love for pogba is ridiculous. What has he done in a red shirt? That is ultimately what matters. He just isn’t good enough in the premiership. Serie A he had 3 midfielders to cover his ass. Pack him off to Ligue 1 where he can pretend to be world class.
