A penny for Ronaldo's thoughts tonight. Is he happy with the tactics. A player of that calibre who has worked at the top level has now been subject to our tactics and ingame management. I can't help but remember Ronaldo giving input for Portugal from the sidelines, he knows what good looks like. What does he think after that?

It is easy to make excuses, the red card, the pitch, the awful back pass, it's only one game. We can come back and qualify after that, yet the same inconsistency seen previously is still there.

The tactics are disjointed, lack flexibility and cannot seem to change in game. The overall playing strategy seems unclear to us and the players. When down to 10, we should still have had the organisation and quality to win that game, yet the team structure was disjointed, substitutions inexplicable.

It is only one game, we can qualify but the same inconsistency remains due to the management and it must improve.

There ain't no improving with Ole as Manager. 3 years now and the same stupid mistakes. It's back to Fred and McTominay in midfield after that loss. No idea, no skill, no balls, on how to change things. Just resort to the tried and tested. Getting tired of this mediocrity.

I’m expecting a verbose defence of Oleball by some posters.
Ole produces football performances that reeves and mortimer would be proud of.
Sure we can lament the sending off, the artificial pitch, jesses once in a lifetime mistake. But the in game management, is borderline ludicrous.
They say you can’t polish a T**d but united have showered Ole with sprinkles.

I think the biggest thing holding you back atm is OGS. Look at how well organised Chelsea were when they went a man down against Liverpool - each player knew what they were doing and Tuchel's subs were spot on.

Who cares what Ronaldo thinks of in game management! We lost because the players couldn’t keep the ball, the manager couldn’t do anything to change that. And oh also, because Ronaldo didn’t shoot when he was through.

We lost for a number of reasons, the main one being we are not a team with a winning repeatable pattern of play, that is down to poor coaching and management.

If these players “couldn’t keep the ball” as you said, who is coaching and directing them, are you telling us that another £400m of talent is also useless? The players don’t decide the useless tactics or make substitutions. At what point will you accept or even be able to see the manager is one of the main issues?

Yes thank you, agree. I can bet most opposition fans can see our issue because you don’t have the 99shaded glasses on.

Oh dear, that display was awful. Perhaps it'll give us a kick up the back side as we haven't been great so far this season anyway. Of course Ole has the backing of the Glazers but that'll only stretch so far. Much more of this and even Sir Alex won't be able to save him.

Is it too much to expect a guy who's on the guts of half a million a week to run around a bit more when we're down to ten men?

I am in full agreement that it’s the managers job to change the team such that they can keep the ball. By tactics and Substitutions. And that the manager failed miserably at that. I also think it was a shocking performance from the players. At that level, players have to self organize and play better than that. I think Harry M’s leadership was equally exposed.
