I’m fed up of hearing people using how long it took SAF to get things right as justification for giving Ole more time. I mean, it’s certainly true that SAF needed time, but this line of thinking is completely ignoring the fact that he had a proven track record as a manager when he came to use and, by extension, suggesting that literally anyone could become a good manager if given enough time.

The reality is that Ole could manage us for the next decade and still wouldn’t be able to win anything meaningful, let alone get us playing good football on even a semi-consistent basis. Good managers should always be given time. Bad managers should be given the boot. In Ole’s case, he should never have gotten the job in the first place.
