With the Casemiro signing virtually completed, ten Hag still very obviously wants another forward (Antony), plus a right back, substitute keeper and potentially another midfielder.

You're talking the best part of £150m he wants to spend still in the next fortnight.

There's no way the G****r's are going to sanction that, so some will need to be made up with departures. So who do we think we can realistically get rid off to get some extra funds in to finance ETH's wish list?

AWB to Palace for £15m?
Bailly to Sevilla/ Marseille for £10m?
McTominay to Everton/ Fulham for £20m?
vdBeek to Ajax for £20m?
Lindelof to Roma for £15m?

I just think that ten Hag (correctly) wants an even bigger overhaul than originally planned and the only way to do this is to sell the 'subs bench' and fill that with the youth, giving him the funds needed to improve the first XI.

{Ed004's Note - I’d say we will be lucky to move AWB, Bailly etc off out on Loans. We have a very bloated squad that’s definitely needs trimmed and I think that has probably held up some of our signings}

Agreed, ed004.
I just think we’re now better off getting ‘something rather than nothing’ for some of those players now. The aforementioned players probably won’t play 25 games between them if they stay this season so if we can sell them all for a cut price £50m combined, we could buy one first teamer and promote Garnacho, Iqbal etc to regular bench players.

Why wouldn't they sanction it? Nobody knows what budget we had or have. For the most part we've spent 120.

Personally, I think Ajax will push for over £100m for Antony, there's no way United will pay that.
We have to move on to the likes of Gakpo who, whilst not a machine like Antony, would still be an upgrade on Rashford.

As for the sales, I'd expect only Bailly to be sold, and for no more than £20m.
AWB will go to Palace on loan.
Lindelof will go nowhere.
McFlurry should be sold, but seems to live a rather charmed life.
Roma would take VdB, but wouldn't pay £20m. A loan is more likely.

Ultimately, sales won't help his budget much because these players are just not attractive enough.

I can only see AWB and Bailley leaving from that motley bunch, plus Jones (unless you would prefer to keep him Downsie! ) .
Think Erik is quite pleased to have Donny and selling McT only creates another problem, we're still light in midfield even with Casemiro.

Maguire should top the outgoing list. I would assume 80m spent on him as a very expensive gift to Leicester for winning the PL and sell him ASAP.

{Ed014's Note - good luck with that!

I don't think the players we are looking to sell will be top of anyone's transfer list.

AWB, Jones, Bailly, Telles, Tuanzebe, Williams, and Chong.

Are the ones I think the club will look to offload. I think clubs might consider them late in the window if other options have fallen through.

Ronaldo will also push to leave.

I don't see us getting a RB unless both AWB and Williams leaves. I just think the priorities will be elsewhere. If that does happen then the names most commonly linked are Dest obviously as he is a former Ajax player, and Aarons from Norwich.

I think we'll go for a keeper who can play out from the back who can challenge DDG. Yann Sommer has been linked and wouldn't cost a huge amount.

The club will fight for FDJ until the last minute, but might make a late bid for Tielemans or SMS if they are available on deadline day.

We will definitely sign a wide forward by the looks of it with links to Antony, Gakpo, Ziyech and Pulisic. For me that's too many links for something not to happen.

I think we will only look at a striker if Ronaldo is successful in extricating from the club. Maybe someone like Moussa Dembele or a short term deal for Vardy.

I'd expect to see a back up keeper, a wide forward and probably another midfielder. With a striker and a RB very much dependant on departures.

The biggest problem is budget vs squad value.

£120m was much-mooted as the budget.
We've spent £65.1m
We've received £8.5m
Net is £56.6m

If we sign Casemiro at, say, £60m, that leaves only £3.4m.
So sales are definitely needed to accommodate any further purchases and, as we're only likely to sell Bailly, we'll probably only get one more player in - unless there's a freebie to be had.

Tbf, there's a chance the original budget was higher than £120m, but it wouldn't be over £200m and, as we always have to pay the United tax for the bigger names, the extra wouldn't stretch very far.

As it stands, I see Bailly leaving, Casemiro signing, Aarons or Meunier signing, Pulisic coming on loan.

Will they make us contenders?
No, but at least we'd have more team players and Pulisic who just needs a bit of luck.

Would not sell MC. We need a squad.
