Not to rain on the Rooney parade as you all know my thoughts on him surpassing Charltons record and he is now a legend of the English game whether you all like it or not but I have just seen the stats for Neymar in a Brazil Jersey and I cannot believe my eyes.

67 caps and 46 goals. This lad is 23 years of age. Surely this isn't the norm? Am I missing something? Unbelievable.

Not to rain on the Rooney parade but Robbie Keane has scored 67 international goals including 3 goals in 4 World Cup final appearances compared to Rooneys 1 goal in 11 World Cup final appearances

Bilko the point of this has obviously just went straight over your head. The point I am making is that he is only 23 years old, he is still a child and his goal record (and caps as Jred has said above) is unreal.

That is a phenomenal record. The whole team literally plays to feed him to be fair, but incredible never the less. I had to read that twice.

Still a little way for him to go to catch Pele:

77 goals in 92 official appearances and an extra 18 goals in 21 unofficial games. This makes an unofficial total of 113 games and 95 goals.

He has also assisted 24 goals no.7 so he does his fair share of feeding as well.

If Rooney played for Brazil then he would have scored far more goals tbf, and yes he would have got in the Brazil side.
