Right now we need wins. We need to build back some confidence. Jumping all over players because they missed one interception, or misplaced a pass is not going to get us back to our best.

We all want to watch rampant multi goal victories, but that will only come with a bit of confidence.

I think the whole team did play more positively today. We had a better team shape (more width, less narrow) . Players did have moments of poor pressing coordination. Letting villa play through or around the press.

Up front we had our moments, looked dangerous, but just couldn't find the right pass at the right time to bust villa open.

Noone enjoys. Tight game, but villa are certainly no mugs and we are working our way back I to form.

Take the win. Keep working on the training ground. Trust ralf to find the winning combinations across the pitch. I think the team was working harder than some are giving credit for.

I don't think missing interceptions or misplacing passes is the issue. The issue and concern is the lack of effort, no desire, passion, or even looking disinterested as is in Rashford's case. Teams have difficult matches or even a series of difficult matches where they draw or even lose but as long as you are trying it is okay. Clearly, that is not happening with a few at United. That is what needs to be sorted out. I really hope RR wields the whip pretty soon and is backed by the powers that be because clearly, United are not going anywhere with this attitude.

I think it is evident by now that many of our players are simply not good enough. We can talk about not trying or misplaced passes and other issues but we must acknowledge that we have 4 or 5 players who are on a par with players from the Premiership's weaker teams. Many of our players are simply overrated. The main area of weakness for me is the middle of the park where we struggle to retain possession, control the game and create chances. Two new players in that department could alter the whole outlook of the team. Either one holding player such as Kessie along with a box to box player such as Haidara or two box to box players. We need energy, drive and commitment in there to succeed. I hope that Rangnick is able to address thsi situation in January.
