Looks like we can scratch Saul off our list then, set to go on loan to Chelsea it seems. ☹️.

We have a list?
I think we only sign people when City like them :D
Bailly, Sanchez, Ronaldo, mighty Fred.

2.) 03 Sep 2021 00:15:33
Maybe we’ve finally learned from previous transfer windows…. if Plan A isn’t available now, just wait until he is rather than buying second, third, fifth choices etc as we did under Van Gaal and Mourinho?

3.) 03 Sep 2021 07:52:19
Eric, that's actually a great point.

4.) 03 Sep 2021 10:00:57
Didn't Jose say something like Fred was "offered ". Never heard if him, but it was him or no one.

5.) 09 Sep 2021 14:15:40
I think if Fred was offered to me I'd consider it a deep and personal insult and never speak to that person again.

Waiting for a 5,000 word post justifying that performance and how we are progressing and how happy the players are.

Hey guys! Long time reader, rarely post. Something off topic. A friend of mine, who is a Chelsea supporter, and I were discussing stadium atmospheres. I remember seeing a couple of posts somewhere which called Stamford Bridge "The Library" due to the lack of atmosphere during some games. This was a long time ago. But neither my friends or others have heard of this. Does anyone know or remember Stamford Bridge being called "The Library"? Or am I mistaken? Or is it some other stadium that is called "The Library"?

Wasn't it Highbury?

2.) 24 Jun 2021 17:03:29
Its was the Emirates when Arsenal first moved there.

3.) 25 Jun 2021 00:32:08
Highbury was knows as the library, because it was always quiet and it rhymes.

4.) 25 Jun 2021 06:22:40
Thanks guys!

5.) 25 Jun 2021 10:00:11
Old Trafford is even more quiet and lacking in atmosphere sadly.

6.) 25 Jun 2021 13:47:17
I was at Old Trafford on the "prawn sandwich" night v Kiev. Very sluggish team performance, think we nicked a 1-1 draw, and the atmosphere was. well, there was none. Ironically, I was there that night on a corporate and was flanked by a Forest fan and a City fan! In fact, I think I was one of only 2 Utd supporters in a group of maybe 10. So Keane was not speaking metaphorically at all when he talked about people only coming to enjoy the prawn sandwiches and expecting to see fantasy football - he was 100% spot on!

Is amazing our away fans are superb best and loudest in the league imo.
At home the fans and stymied us dead in general. Of course there have been occasions when the place is jumping but only after the team perform. Annfield is jumping before a ball is kicked. I much rather going to away games than OT.

Hi guys, hope all is well. I tried searching for the latest transfer update (both ins and outs) by Ed002 but unable to find it. Can anyone point me to it or give me a brief please? Thanks in advance!

{Ed002's Note - It is all there if you read the posts.}

Ed002's Note - Again, I don't really think much has changed at the moment and the club will look to to prioritise. Previously a DM would have been a target, but a new contract for Matic has delayed the immediate need. A versatile left sided CM/ AM (ideally Jack Grealish) is still wanted. There is interest in the future with interest in Jude Bellingham remaining but a move being unlikely right now. Joe Hugill being taken as an option to Gelhardt. The club need to decide what to do about adding a striker with Odion Ighalo being the low cost option post his loan ending in January.

There are other youngsters the club have an interest in and could still look to cherry-pick like Ricky-Jade Jones and Kalvin Phillips. Then the issue shifts to players departing to make space. Donny van der Beek (CM) and Saul Niguez (CM) interest will have gone if Pogba decides to run down his contract next season because the club are holding him to ransom and may have no Champions League - and there is interest in both playersfrom elsewhere. A decision needs to be made as Manchester United may have the chance to replace Pogba with one of these players but they continue to make matters difficult for themselves.

In terms of Jadon Sancho, it is the overall cost of the package that is the major issue. His "agent" has approached other sides offering a better deal in terms of fees but both see the overall package as too high. Ferran Torres wants to be elsewhere and I don't see that happening. Federico Chiesa remains a very good option as I have explained. I doubt Manchester United woul offer Willian a three year contract if he becomes available. }.

Hi, long time reader. rarely post though. Just saw an altercation between Pogba and Lingard in the first video the club released! I just hope that Lingard is upset with Pogba for disrespecting the club. If yes, then there is hope still for Lingard. and for the club too. One can only dream and hope. The reaction of the others except for Lindelof tells it all though. If this would have happened during Keane's time both their heads would have been smashed by now.

I’ve just watched it. It doesn’t look like anything at all. Only how two young people would act amongst a group if they disagree on something. The media are blowing it out of proportion.

Although I do prefer your version, I think the press are making something out of nothing.

2.) 09 Jul 2019 08:07:17
The whole video was faked so not sure why you would think anything different about that part.

3.) 09 Jul 2019 08:11:20
Most likely it was nothing. The video was hardly conclusive.

Long time reader of the website, very rare poster. Great job by the Eds running this site, thank you!

Paul Pogba needs to shut it now and just get it on with his job. Looks like Mourinho has now extended the olive branch to the players and is willing to stand down in his tiff with the players. Paul Pogba is a very good player with the potential to become a great. But he needs to understand that a lot of football greats put their hands down and worked hard as good professionals to reach where they did. He needs stop being a diva! Gets paid in millions and needs to be pampered by his manager to perform? In any other job, the manager would just tell him to get on with his job. I know what Roy Keane tell him to do.

It isn't his leg but his head that is playing Garnacho on I felt. Anyway, you get some decisions while others go against you. we move on.

As per certain reports, EtH and maybe even Murtough and Arnold were willing to let him go. It was Joel Glazer who was hell bent on keeping him for commercial reasons. How can one blame EtH for this fiasco?

I don't think missing interceptions or misplacing passes is the issue. The issue and concern is the lack of effort, no desire, passion, or even looking disinterested as is in Rashford's case. Teams have difficult matches or even a series of difficult matches where they draw or even lose but as long as you are trying it is okay. Clearly, that is not happening with a few at United. That is what needs to be sorted out. I really hope RR wields the whip pretty soon and is backed by the powers that be because clearly, United are not going anywhere with this attitude.

My hopes were raised when I saw his first press conference a couple of days ago. That told me that we have a proper manager now with the vision to pull United out of the rut. He needs to be given time (either as a Manager or Consultant) and needs to be given the authority and autonomy to stamp his authority, structure, plan, style on the club.

Cheshire, I remember you talking about Saul the other day. Where is that? Chelsea seems to have the upper hand but any chance we can swoop in and pick him off? Or any other midfielder?
