Hearing reports Arsenal are unwilling to meet Southampton's valuation of Morgan Schneiderlin as Wenger believes it to be over the odds. If this is true then perhaps ourselves and spurs are fighting for his signature. Some on here have said he's not good enough but he's 25 great age. He's premier league proven so no major settling in needed and 20 to 24 million could be good business. He's strong, good passing range and tidy player. Watch this space??

Totally agree ! Would def improve our team -a no risk signing who showed his class last year on and off the field - when he was refused a transfer he just settled down and got on with it / great replacement for Carrick

If it is true that arsenal have backed off and it is between us and spurs for his signature, then that would be some great piece of business on our part.

We would now be in the driving seat, as the player does want to leave for champions league football and Spurs would not be able to offer that. We could probably get him for a lesser price than quoted.

Say Arsenal did bid and it was being considered we could improve on that bid if we wanted to.

This is all speculation, hoping I'm correct.

Imagine getting Schneiderlin for £18-20mil and Schweinsteiger for £8-10mil. That'd be +-£28mil for two top midfielders!

We would have a midfield 3 between Herrera, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger and Carrick.
Even put Fellaini and or Mata depending on our opponent and tactics.

He's 25, what better reason to sign him?
