Heard a rumour that the club are exploring an 18 month loan deal with a buy option/ requirement for João Felix from Atletico Madrid in January.

Would be interesting if true.

Buy option yes. Obligation, a bit of a risk. Decent player who seems to have regressed. Can't blame him though, Atletico play rubbish mechanical football, no way a young attacker could ever develop.

Well they're not going to want to make a loss on their £119m investment, so I'm sure we can get him for about £150m.

Loan deal for him would be the only reason I would look at him. I am not sure he solves our problem as he plays as a second striker primarily which we don't tend to play and if we do would be Fernandes. Unless i am missing something I don't see that he solves our Striker problem that should be number 1.

A CF should be the priority IMO.

I can't see it tbh, sounds like a story to get some clicks. can't see how he fits in ten hags style.

Big name that won't fit Eth style. Can't see it. I'm expecting Eth to get our signings more or less right from now on.

He's certainly not a striker in the mould of Haller. Yet João Felix plays in a very similar way to both Lautaro Martinez and Jonathan David who we have also been linked with.

I think all three of them could easily play the same role that EtH had Tadic play in his first Ajax team. Almost like a false 9 type role that would create space for the wide players (Neres and Ziyech) to cutting behind the defence and move centrally. It also allowed Donny to move beyond the "striker" in a very fluid style.

Given we have Antony and possibly Rashford playing wide and Bruno who likes to move further forward I think we could bring in this sort of striker to create a very fluid and dynamic front line that would be hard to defend against.

Need a proper centre forward, one that is a focal point badly. If we can get one in Jan then great, but I think who Eric's wants will have to wait til summer. However, with the second half of the season fixture pile up, United might need to get a forward in because of the number of games. but I get the feeling players need to leave first.

I don’t agree with the need for a proper CF. I prefer the fluid front 3 system so not everything has to go through that focal point. If we wanted a focal point we’d just keep Ronaldo.

Felix would be an incredible addition and an upgrade on our bench options.

Eric, my preference is for more multifaceted players who can rotate position and to share the goals out amoungst the entire front line.

It's generally harder to defend against and you are less prone to a serious drop off in performance when you suffer injuries due to you relying less on specific players.

But that's my preference it might not be EtH's.

Would Trossard be worth a look?

But Ronaldo is useless there, just can't run anymore. Also United miss a lot of chances, a proper centre forward would actually score. not sure how that's not improving the team and more badly needed. Got enough player who like coming off the wings, don't need another need a centre forward.

Interesting how people are talking about fluid systems / false number nines / no need for an out and out striker yet City have realised that to have a proper Centre Forward makes all the difference. Liverpool have bought Nunes and Chelsea last year signed Lukaku and Aubamayang this. Our greatest period of success was when we had proper centre forwards.

Tbf City were doing pretty well without Haaland….
