If we end the window with this defence and if DDG leaves then we are screwed.

BLind at CB? Why LvG why?

if we don't get a quality CB(a leader) we are not going to be challenging for the title add that to the possibility of dea gea going who practically saved us 15 points,

i am not confident of maintaining a title challenge with the cbs we have atm,

smalling has improved and rojo looks good but they can't stay fit.


we should have just got hummels when he was debating his future.

It is a pity that Blind isn't a few inches taller and has a bit more pace because he has excellent defensive positional awareness.

I think Rojo will eventually cement his place as the left sided Centre back.

Like most of you, I'd like a centre back and another quality attacking option (and in that order).

Maybe there aren't any centre backs interested and available that would improve us enough?

Not ideal but at least the defence will be better protected than last season. And if we keep DDG surely we can only do better than last season?

Or maybe we are already in "the process" but keeping the media guessing?

He's only playing blind because he's the only left footer in the squad capable of playing at centre back until rojo turns up and van gaal is ocd about having a left footed centre back and a right footed centreback

Maybe the reason we haven't bought anybody is because LVG believes the CBs we have are going to be as good as anyone out there who's available. And, given the improved midfield in front of them, maybe he's right. They did improve towards the end of the season, and in particular when Carrick was fit. I could be the only person who comes on this site who believes that not getting someone would not be a disaster, in particular if De Gea stays and has the same sort of season as last year.

if you would of offered hummels 150/200K a week he would of been your new centre back. He has stayed at dortmund because unted didn't firm up there interest and make him feel wanted.
