Why has no one from the PL tried to sign Messi? Moving to Barcelona is not a foregone conclusion. Saudi is an option for him but maybe 1 year deal at at PL team? Would you like to see him at United? Commercial revenue alone would be massive.

1.) he's getting on in age and past his best.
2.) His wages are astronomical.
3.) He has literally achieved everything there is to achieve in football so motivations level to move to a new competitive league will be low.
4.) CR37s experience with us second time round was a disaster.
5.) Doubt he would be interested in moving to Manchester or Liverpool and none of the London clubs are going to move for him.

As great as Messi is, you have to change the way the team plays to adapt to him. He won't press, just like Ronaldo did not. And he is not a #9. He was able to be a false 9 for many years in Barcelona because they had the ball all the time. The PL is more up and down, less patient. Messi as a #10 would dictate the team's formation and disrupt the defensive pressing. With the ball, of course, is quite another story.

I’m a little surprised that neither City nor Chelski has made a move, to be honest. As a fan of the game, I’d love to see him do a season or two in the UK. At this point in his career, I’m not sure that failure would prove all that much, but if he were to perform even half as well as he did over in France, I dare say it would bring an end to the Messi Ronaldo debate once and for all. Not sure I’d want him playing for us, mind, even if that were an option.

Come on, who wouldn't love to see Messi in a Utd shirt for a season lol.
Can't see it in a million years and probably rightly so with those wages.
But wouldn't be surprised if he joined Pep for a season, especially if Gundogan leaves.

The chance of Messi coming to the PL would have been after leaving Barcalona and that move never materialised potentially down to the money it would cost.
As great as he is I don't see what team would throw there style and plans up and bring him in, let's be honest it was not exactly a resounding success at PSG.
If Pep can't get him I doubt anyone could. It will be an emotional return to Barcalona (with maybe a 3rd party offering wages to help) or Saudi league for a final huge pay off for 2/ 3 years.

Terrible idea for us. Need to move on from signing these super stars in their twilight years. It has been a miserable experience for the club in terms of winning trophies. Messi for me is the greatest off all time and wish him the best.

Why would any team really want him except for shirt sales and media exposure

He’s finished at the top level just like Ronaldo.
