I see Wolfsburg and Christian Eriksen are still connected. He has not officially retired and says he is targeting playing for Denmark in the 2028 Euros.
He is in very good health and hopes to play again.
I must say it would not be my desire to play on after the 2 episodes he has had. But the medical advancements have been huge in this area.
I wish him well whatever he chooses to do but I think discretion would be better than valour at this stage of his career.


Couple of scares he's had, but has been passed fit to continue if he wishes. He has not played yet this season so he might bow out or even move away to a less competitive league than Germany to extend his career.
Looking at what Herrera has done he might choose to do something similar.

I would think someone might be telling me something, and next time I might not be as lucky... Not sure if brave or stupid to continue playing...

Everyone reacts differently to major life-changing situations.

For some, having something like what Eriksen has gone through, they would take that as the sign to hang up their boots and adopt a slower pace of life. Which is a perfectly reasonable response.

Others, however, might look at it as a sign that life is short, and to make sure they spend as much time doing the things they love. If that is playing football, then I can understand why Eriksen wants to prolong his career as long as possible.

Fortunately, he is wealthy enough to be able to get advice and support for the best medical professionals in the world, and I'm sure he would be basing his decision on what they suggest.

Also, no club would offer him a contract which goes directly against medical advice and which could endanger him.

For example, after his first incident and subsequent ICD implant, he was unable to continue his career in Italy as they have a blanket rule forbidding players to play with heart devices. However, that isn't the case in other leagues or at international level, which enabled him to continue his career back in England.

I wish him the best of luck with the rest of his career, and I hope he is able to bow out on his own terms.
