To be fair, if we manage to sign one top player would be a miracle given we aren't qualified for CL. We need young players who has potential to be a top player. Isco is already near the world class. I don't think we will lure him even with higher wage.

I agree that to put faith in youth is good. And it is also more exciting to see young players develop into top class players than to buy a fully developed player. On the other hand, PSG, ManCity, Monaco (and perhaps Anzhi) managed to attract world class players without CL. So a question for Ed (even though you don't want to discuss money), but I am quite naive in this and would appreciate to get some insight: My impression through media is that ManUnited has been reluctant to pay large sums to agents in the past (Pogba?). Could this be a reason why the club have struggled/struggle to sign some big names?

{Ed002's Note - Putting aside Pogba which is unrelated, all clubs want to reduce the money they spend on agents - which can be very significant. It is not the reason Manchester United has "struggled" - Mata arrived for a very significant fee in January, so they are not struggling that much.}

I think we need a mix, young players like Shaw and Clasie are all well and good, but they are so much better with experienced players alongside them.

Ed, are we interested in Pogba this summer? I saw your post yesterday, I think, suggesting that Juve would be willing to sacrifice him for Sanchez and their finances

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't hold your breath.}
