Hi Ed, hope everyone is well. Now the dust has settled, is there any chance Ed you could give us a summary of any players we are targeting for the January window? Completely understand if not, but thanks anyway.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester United have agreed to complete the transfer of Amad Traore by December 31 to allow him to move in January subject to a Work Permit etc.. However, Manchester United would have been aware of an issue that blocked the sale of his brother Hamed Treore from Empoli to another English side earlier in the summer that resulted in the extention of his loan at Empoli with an obligation to buy included. It relates to the players arriving in Italy with false paperwork and that means they could potentially be in the country illegally. So there might be another hurdle to deal with.

Aside from that, clubs don't usually plan for January transfers and I am not aware of anything that the club may wish to do.}

1.) 12 Oct 2020 15:34:21
The January window tend to be used by those who have maybe changed manager, or to offload a few players who aren't playing. In general players who are playing well prefer not to move in January, especially ahead of the summer international tournament as if they have a drop in form that could cost them a place in their national side.

I very much expect Amad Traore to be our only "signing" of January. With maybe 1 or 2 players departing either on loan or permanently.

2.) 14 Oct 2020 09:29:12
You may have changed manager by then though, Shappy?

3.) 14 Oct 2020 10:21:34
Silvered, we may well have done. But I still don't see the club spending in January unless someone like Sancho or Upamecano becomes available. It would need to be a either a long term target or a top level player available for a bargain. I can't see either happening.

Good players don't tend to move in the January when there is an international tournament in the summer. The risk of not settling, or not getting games and thus missing out on going to a tournament with their national side is too great.

If we change manager I expect it'll either happen mid December or early January, otherwise we won't change manager until the end of the season. Either way the club are unlikely to sanction spending during a financial crisis for a manager who will likely have had no more than a few weeks with his players.

In the past 30 years we have only made 12 January signings, of which only Evra, Vidic and Bruno can be considered successes. While Saha had he avoided injury probably would have been as well. It's a pretty terrible success rate.

Whether Ole keeps his job or we have a new manager, I highly doubt the club will make any January signings.

4.) 14 Oct 2020 12:29:37
The club didn't even spend money the last time Sancho and Upamecano were available😃😃.

Hi Ed and everyone else, hope you're all doing well and staying safe. Ed, seen a few rumours pop up about Ansu Fati being linked with us, just wondering if you've heard anything? Couldn't imagine him leaving Barcelona anytime soon surely, even with all their issues. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Ansu Fati (LW) PSG would be open to including Ansu Fati in any deal for Neymar - they are less keen on the players Barcelona want to offer but Barcelona has said he is not for sale.}

1.) 11 Jun 2020 22:11:11
Not surprised by that one bit. He’s got the tools to go far.

2.) 11 Jun 2020 22:53:16
He looks a real talent pete.

3.) 12 Jun 2020 22:36:56
Not many people will want to have FATI on the back of their strip lol 😁.

17 Dec 2019 12:09:57
Hi Ed, saw your write up the other day in regards to our targets etc, appreciated as always. Just wondering if you've heard anything about Kulusevski who's on loan at Parma? Seen us linked with him a little while ago and seems to be having a decent season. Thanks in advance and also merry Xmas to everyone on here, hope you all have a swell holiday.

{Ed002's Note - Parma would like to take him - and Parma say Inter have been watching Dejan Kulusevski (AM/W) and talking with Atalanta - and that numerous other clubs have sent scouts to watch him - nobody likes the circa €50M asking price. Inter won't pay that but have players to use in exchange - and that remains the most likely solution - but Juventus have also shown an interest. At the price it would be risky to take him with so little experience.}

07 Aug 2019 15:48:06
Ed, you mentioned a while ago when you gave us your extensive update, that Zaha could be of interest to United. Would that still be the case? Just seeing he's handed a transfer request in and I'd definitely take him here. Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

20 Apr 2019 12:02:02
Hi Ed hope you're well. Just seeing your round up of players United are interested in for the summer, thanks for that. Just wondering, you mention Zaha could be an option, would he genuinely be interested in coming back? Seemed a shame it didn't work out, didn't end very well either, so wouldn't be surprised if he was put off etc. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It will be difficult to sign hiom if Manchester United don't make it to the Champions League and there is serious interest from elsewhere, although price will be an issue. There is no problem with him moving back.}

1.) 20 Apr 2019 12:41:00
I think he’s much better option than some other names mentioned, and somewhat less of a risk.

2.) 20 Apr 2019 14:29:15
Not knowing Zaha or what he’s really like, my impression through the media is that he’s a bit precious and wants to be the main man.

I’d stay well clear.

3.) 20 Apr 2019 15:22:17
Could say that about 90% of current players today.

4.) 20 Apr 2019 18:09:15
“My impression through the media”, good thing raheem sterling doesn't play for us then lol.

You would probably think he is another flashy youngster who thinks too much of himself and committed the crime of buying his muma house instead of one of the best forwards in europe and one of englands go to guys.

ED, is there anyone you know of we are interested, in that has gone under the radar a bit or not been reported? Just wondering if you've heard anything that would be a bit of a surprise. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I have told you where I know of interest - and Perisic is also being offered.}

1.) 20 Sep 2020 15:38:59
I would be happy with Perisic. He’s got a year or two left at the top level. He’s a big game player, has plenty of experience and has a determination about him which I think we are currently lacking. I’d start him ahead of Rashford based on his form since last seasons restart.

06 Aug 2019 14:57:37
Ed, I know you've been getting question after question about Fernandes, but in your opinion, where do you think he'll end up? No worries if you choose to ignore. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to make predictions Elvis.}

1.) 06 Aug 2019 19:15:02
Elvis, how's the weather in Memphis?

17 Dec 2018 15:51:34
So until it's mathematically impossible for us to reach top four, it looks like nothing will change, regardless of results. I think we can all agree that's ridiculous, but it's United so no surprises there. Only us fans seems to be paying the price as usual. So where do we go from here? I doubt we will we make big changes in Jan, maybe sign one at most, maybe let two go, something like that. No big scale changes due to the inevitable departure of Jose at the end of season. We won't win anything, limp to a 6th place finish at best IMO.

So how could it be better? How could it be more bearable and maybe have something to look forward to again. I think the only way for this, is to start blooding the youth and going for a young vibrant, fearless team. Something Jose has given up on it seems. Stick with them, stick with a core team and leave the others who have had chance after chance and constantly let us down. Bring though, Gomes, Greenwood, Chong etc. Play Dalot, Pogba, Martial, Rash, Pereira. This is why I'm sort of hoping at some point, Nicky Butt gets a chance to step in until the end of the season, the youth teams are the only teams who actually play like we should play. He's give them a chance and then whoever comes in next year, will have decent foundations. Jose might make us think our squad it terrible, but it's not. They are better than this and yes they should take more responsibility, but he doesn't inspire confidence in anyone.

Combine all this, a few decent signings in the summer and hopefully a good DOF and manager (Poch please) and next year could could be the exact opposite to this one. At the mo, it's hard to care, when it seems like everyone at the club doesn't. Its been a waste of a season and it doesn't feel like I'm supporting the same United I have all my life. It's bizarre. So fingers crossed something like this could happen, because at least it would be trying something different to what we have seen this year and going back to our clubs values. I can get over yesterday, but I can't keep seeing our club constantly being dragged through the mud and turning into anything but a football club. So here's hoping.

1.) 17 Dec 2018 16:35:45
Elvis if only we could return some players to sender, it's now or never.

{Ed025's Note - love it leahy..

2.) 17 Dec 2018 18:50:37
Some suggest Jose wants sacking, but they have suspicious minds.

3.) 17 Dec 2018 18:53:25
More likely another season in Heartbreak Hotel.

4.) 17 Dec 2018 21:09:14
Especially after a "Blue Christmas "

28 Nov 2018 19:17:44
Have a question for you guys and i'm only playing devil's advocate, so don't kill me.

If by some chance we won the champions league this season, would you give Jose another year? Or would you get rid regardless, like LVG with the FA cup. Merci.

1.) 28 Nov 2018 19:37:49
If by some chance! There’s as much chance of your namesake being found working in Tesco’s. But if we did, then yes I would kiss his feet.

2.) 28 Nov 2018 19:41:37
Champions league is a bit different to the FA cup. We've only ever won it 3 times. If Jose won that, he'd most definitely be staying.

3.) 28 Nov 2018 19:45:57

We have almost zero chance of winning the CL, but if we did then obviously he stays.

4.) 28 Nov 2018 20:56:23
Jose won't be staying even if he pulls off a miracle champions league win.
He will be fired before the end of the saeson or he will leave in the summer for another job.
If he wins the cl by some extraordinary set of circumstances it won't make any difference imo he will still leave in the summer.

5.) 28 Nov 2018 22:01:50
Elvis, . Your the devil in disguise.

6.) 28 Nov 2018 22:45:29
It is only theoretical as it will not happen but, but but. If he won yes I would still get rid as he would see it as perfect confirmation of his prehistoric tactics.
Any one on here queuing up for a few more seasons as good as this one.?

7.) 28 Nov 2018 23:00:19
Don't be cruel leave Elvis alone.

8.) 28 Nov 2018 23:17:36
Ok I'll let it be.

9.) 29 Nov 2018 01:38:52
After winning the ecl jose would be ready to step on some blue suede shoes. Watch out Pep!

10.) 29 Nov 2018 15:37:03
I think January will provide an indication to the Summer. If JM is allowed to spend and sell then I don’t see him going. If little happens in terms of the transfer market in Jan I’ll agree.

11.) 29 Nov 2018 15:52:10
onto the beatles now leahy?

19 Oct 2018 22:41:17
Chong once again standing out for the U23's tonight, hopefully he'll get a chance this season at some point. I'm sure they don't want to rush him, but seeing as we lack anyone who can play down the right really, I don't see the harm. Could bring a bit of balance to the side.

1.) 20 Oct 2018 07:59:35
Agreed mate he doesn't look far off does he.

2.) 20 Oct 2018 13:26:25
Missed the game did Gomes play and if so how was he.

Credit where it's due, Ed said he was our preferred choice over Reguilon and how his agent was in London not that long ago. So props Ed. It's nice to come on here, even after all these years, and know we have someone reliable, rather than getting worked up about things on twitter and these so called ITK's. So just want you to know Ed, we are grateful for all your info you give us, despite all the crap you get from some people sometimes. So to you and the rest of the Ed's, keep up the good work.

Ed, apart from United, who else is interested in Grealish? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - There is no serious interest although Spurs and more recently Arsenal have looked.}

Ed, just wanted to say, thank you for your patience and words during transfer season, I'm sure it can be tedious and get overbearing sometimes, but we are grateful for your inside knowledge for sure. Hope you are well and everyone on here too.

Ed, just for clarity on this, we are interested but don’t like the price, is that correct?

{Ed002's Note - As I have previously clearly stated, yes.}

I know we all moaned a lot about LVG, but he did have a good eye for some players, some still being here. Ighalo would have been a good singing at the time and obvs he did try for Mane.

Jimenez should be our number one target to play up front. If we were a serious club, we'd go to wolves right now and just give them what they want. He's class, huge improvement from his Benfica days for sure.

TBF to Mctom, I'm sure a lot of us thought he wouldn't really ever step up, but fair play to him, he's getting better and better and actually cares.

As for Gomes, for a small guy he uses his body well and can take it, hope he keep performing.

This is why I'm a bit over transfers this window, we have good youth coming through, yer we need to buy a few more, but it's still exciting.

Hi Ed hope you’re well. Just wondering, with everything you’ve just said, if we have any interest in Milinkovic Savic? I think we did last year and would hope we would consider him as a replacement for Pogba. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Mr Mourinho did.}
