So rumours that Mr Woodward resigned in part due to the Glazers plans to take United into this ESL.

No idea if true, and he certainly isn't a football person, but if it is true at least it shows he is willing to stick up for what he believes in. He isn't my favourite person in the world, but if true my opinion on him will have increased ever so slightly.

Maybe the Glazers should leave by the end of the year and he can stay and continue looking after the commercial side of things only, which no one can deny he is very good at.

However, as it is, we are still stuck with the biggest problem at the club, the owners. I don't see that changing even with the fall out of this. They are sat in Florida enjoying the money we provide for them, so as long as that continues why would they care what we, or Gary Neville, thinks?

Brendan81, tbh I really don't believe that is the case. Woodward and Glazers go hand in hand and being business people they would have seen ESL as a great opportunity to make more money. Unfortunately it didn't work out and it seems Woodward is made the scapegoat and his resignation is an attempt to save face by the Glazers.

Woodward was up to his neck in it. His position had become untenable as he would not be welcome at any table with the people he has to negotiate with now as he led them all down the garden path for the last few months.
