Anybody know how the pursuit of Bruno fernandes is going seems to av gone a little quite. hope it pulls off because he seems like a real good player but plenty time left and looking forward to new season.

This transfer story has a nico gaitan feel about him lol.

On a serious note, how do you know he is a good player? He put up very good numbers last season granted but it was at a lower level than the premier league and did include a lot of penalties.

Also he seemed to play more forwards last season as a number 10 and i don't see how that fits into oles favoured 4-3-3 system.

We are obviously going to strengthen in midfield regardless of how pogbas future ends up, just not sure if fernandes is the right man.

DSG I have to disagree because we've lacked goals from midfield for a number of years now, and from what I've seen of Fernandes I really do think he's a player who will slot in and change the tempo of our play, scoring goals in the process.

He's agile, good movement, great positioning and clearly knows how to find the back of the net. I accept he's done it in a lesser league but he can only face what's in front of him.

He can play perfectly well as a number 8 which is where I think he will fit best for us if we maintain the current system.

Ole seemed to like that 4-4-2 diamond, maybe that's what he is looking at, Fernandes being at the head of the diamond with Martial and Rashford up front, it would also mean Fernandes could move higher and the frontmen could move out wide to morph into a 4-3-3 if required. It could bring about a fluid switch between the two systems.
