Well, Rohan should be happy £15m for Garner to Everton agreed and seemingly there is a buy back clause in the contract.

I am, it's a good deal then. Not sure if this should be a new post though.
Actually believe selling players with a fixed buyback clause is better than loaning them for 2-3 years.

There is no fied clause. 15m for a lad that's never played in epl is good money. I hope he does well.

Most players don't make it at a level that is good enough for the top of the EPL. Don't hold on to them, if them aren't going to get a game let them go for whatever you can get for them.

I am happy to get 15 million for an academy graduate if the decision maker decides he isn't good enough or not going to play.

It’s 9 million with 6 million of add ons. No buy back clause. Can’t help think that this is another amateur hour negotiation from us.

I can't believe we haven't got a buy back clause. I've always liked garner and he will be a great signing for Everton and make a big money move in a season or 2, probably back to us.

Same people moaning are probably the same ones who criticise mctominay!

We’ve avoided the exact same scenario of having a graduate not quite good enough in managers opinion and made 15 million!

Excellent business!

Spot on Chris, it seems every academy lad actually playing on the first team is "crap" and only getting game time because they have come through the academy. Yet these same people are crying out for the next academy lad to be given game time.

I'm a big advocate of using our academy, for me bring through youth is as big a part of the club as winning titles.

That said there will always be more misses than hits when giving young lads a chance. Sometimes it's not always the one you expect who kicks on and is a success.

I wanted Garner to be given a chance, EtH has run his eye over the lad and decided he isn't for him. Best let him move on and continue to develop and hopefully have a good career.

I said earlier in the summer that I felt Zidane Iqbal had jumped ahead of Garner in EtH's mind. Maybe that is the case, or at least Garner isn't considered a useful option by EtH.

In two years time he'll be playing in the championship for an Everton side managed by Neil Warnock.
