Hi Ed, hope you have a great bank holiday weekend.
Which clubs are most interested in M. Caicedo and are United?

{Ed002's Note - Moises Caicedo (DM/CM) Arsenal have enquired after his availability and been told he is not for sale. Prior interest of Manchester United, dating back before he joined Brighton, remains. Liverpool have not made any approach to Brighton although they may have an interest in taking the player. West Ham and Newcastle have an interest - but with the departure of Potter Chelsea will drop interest. A representative of the player says Brighton will demand a very significant fee after the player signed a new contract. Expect Arsenal to return in the summer to challenge Manchester United over his signature - but I expect MU to focus on Amrabat now. Player wants to move to Real Madrid but they have no interest.}

Amrabat looked great at the World Cup but I've not seen much of him since then. Assuming this would be to provide us a McTominay/ Fred replacement in the squad?

I'm guessing he'd also cost considerably less than the other defensive midfielders we've been linked with like Caicedo, Rice and Palhinha?

{Ed002's Note - Sofyan Amrabat (DM/CM) Fiorentina were expecting to lose money on a sale but an excellent World Cup has changed that. Spurs contacted Fiorentina through a third party to take him as an Ndombele replacement in the summer, and Liverpool, Barcelona and Nice have had scouts watch him and have spoken with his representatives, but seemingly not Fiorentina yet. His representatives walked out on a meeting with Liverpool due to something Klopp said to them. Fiorentina have reported Barcelona for making a direct approach to Amrabat in January, but Barcelona remain interested. Agent has spoken with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea as well, with Manchester United showing an interest. The player says he wants to move to Atletico Madrid and they are keen. A wildcard option will be Inter Milan who are looking to replace Brozovic and will guarantee a starting place for him.}

Thanks very much Ed. His reps walking out on Klopp immediately make me a fan of his ?.

Old Klopp is a livewire for sure :D
I'm a big fan of both Caicedo and Mac Allister and would love to see either at Utd although I'm sure they are quite different and one would be more suitable for us.
I'm not sure that Brighton would let the engine-room of their midfield be ripped out by selling both players, but their scouting is so good that they'll rake it in if they do and if they're confident they can unearth other similar gems than maybe they will.

I didn’t see any of amrabat at the World Cup. What type of midfielder is he?

bossed the midfield against the likes of france and portugal. tough as nails. would be a great addition to the club and better than mcalister for me. has an engine on him and can keep going and going. funny i was going to post a few days ago and ask ed002 if we have an interest.

I would love to see Amrabat at United. A true defensive midfielder, a leader, tough as nails, and shows a leadership presence on the field. Age 26 is a plus, as well as being a Dutch citizen. Ten Hag may persuade him yet!

If possible I'd love us to sign Caicedo. He's destined for the top of the game and would be a key player for us for the best part of a decade.

The issue is Brighton will only sell for a high price, especially with Mac Allister leaving and Caicedo's new contract. Whether we can afford that very much depends on who our owners are and when they take charge.

Is he more a defensive midfielder guys or box to box? Either way we need cover and rotation for casemiro.

Caolan, he's a well rounded midfielder capable of playing both as a holding midfielder or in a box to box capacity. Against us the other weeks he played RB/ RWB and was excellent.

For Brighton he has tended to play a more defensive role with Mac Allister being given more freedom as a floating playmaker. But for Ecuador he tends to play more box to box.

Apparently he is a Manchester United fan, and a fan of fellow countryman Antonio Valencia as a kid. So I doubt he'd take much persuading to join us. The issue is getting him out of Brighton without breaking the bank.

Amrabat is fairly similar from the little I've seen. Would be cheaper but has nowhere near the same ceiling.
