I don't understand the big thing about getting conte in. Failed at Chelsea, failed at Spurs, so what? Comes here, fails at United and we move on to yet another manager that will be great for 10/15 games and then back down to our usual level?

Spurs similar to us if you speak out against what then obviously was the issue you get sacked

Just like when ralf said what we needed, and Amorim calling out the people above too

Anyone half decent coach is better than carrick. He's not got a scooby doo.

I suspect that people want Conte because he's more antagonistic to players if he feels like they're slacking. But that's how Amorim was and he wasn't able to get much out of these players either.

For me, the two people I would be looking at are Emery and Howe.

Emery is excellent at organising his teams. It's a no frills style of football in which everyone has a clear role, and he's happy to sacrifice talent for effort. I also think that he's very adult in his treatment of players, there's no sense that he's harsh or abrasive. He just sets clear expectations and players that don't meet them don't play. Emery is the best person to sort out or defensive issues.

Howe is less proficient in terms of organisation, but his Newcastle side played a more expansive style of football. Most importantly, they were pretty good at pressing and using physicality to put teams under pressure. I would see Howe as someone that could potentially inject a bit of much needed energy back into the squad. Newcastle had very good distance covered stats under him. The problem is that he had players at Newcastle that were willing to put in the hard yards.

Either way, both Emery and Howe would be an upgrade on Carrick.

Mrlee, if Conte failing at Chelsea I take that considering he won Premier League and FA Cup that's hardly failing and what is it 9 major trophy's as a manager must be dozen or more as a player I like that failure rate very much indeed . Would it work at United not a chance because he won't suffer Wilcox or SJR for that matter.

But to label him as failed at Chelsea Is plain stupidity.

He has won most places he has coached. He is a winner. He's not a long term coach for any club as he eventually falls out with the wrong player or exec.
Proper head case at times so to speak, very emtional and unpredictable.

A very good proven trouble shooter.
Could be a good watch with him and wilcox??
Carrick does need improve our play results quickly.

He is a total winner, be prepared for 2 years of fireworks too, but new coaches every 2 years suits me, I don't go with this fairytale notion that many on here have about build for years, those days long gone, players don't stay, managers don't stay, football and life in 2026 is all about the here and now, not 3 years to build a team, backwards, that's pie in the sky philosophy.

Its the only thing would get me back watching. I could have smashed my TV watching that gormless puppet rubbing his chin like he couldn't fathom what was happening and didn't give a single instruction or command. Managers MANAGE they don't observe.

Je suis at normal clubs players go and managers go but at ours it’s only the managers
