How many weeks has it been since we had our 1st bid rejected for mbeumbo?
Not to start a rant but we have just had our worst finish to a prem season ever, would think the club would be moving a lot quicker to get players through the door we need, espically after more than once we’ve stated “we have a plan”
I think even with mbembo we still need a number 9, a cb and another cm. not to mention a keeper (although cannot see that unless Onana is sold)
It’s quite worrying how hard we find it to sell players, at no fault of Ineos as they were given there contracts pre them taking over but the players we are trying to sell we are stuck with,
Sancho and rashford won't take a pay cut, and what clubs are even interested, Garnacho has the ego of Ronaldo and is demanding wages more than what he's performing on and is putting teams off and no one wants to pay the money for Antony.
We need to get a move on.
1.) 20 Jun 2025 16:53:31
I gave up soon after, "Not to start a rant but. "
2.) 20 Jun 2025 17:14:09
It might start moving after July 1st. Isn’t that when the new year starts for PSR?
3.) 20 Jun 2025 17:14:31
It’ll happen.
Rashford, Sancho, Antony and Garnacho will all be sold/ loaned out in the next couple of months, I’m absolutely certain of it.
It’s going to be a busy old window. It’s only just starting.
4.) 20 Jun 2025 17:27:06
There is considerable talk that we put a new bid in yesterday, in excess of £60m, we are awaiting a response from Brentford, apparently expect to hear in the coming days.
I would be fairly confident they are carrying out a lot of work, behind the scenes, in an effort to move players on which, as we know, is massively important.
It may be frustrating but suppose we have to be a bit patient.
Let's not forget the window has only been back open a few days.
{Ed077's Note - The add-ons are already counted for? Why is it that the "reported figure" for Man Utd, Liverpool are with add-ons but for City, Chelsea they're not?
5.) 20 Jun 2025 17:50:28
Welcome to our world 077. It has been thus for United for many years.
{Ed077's Note - I don't know what to say
6.) 20 Jun 2025 18:11:28
No idea Ed, suppose they want to try and make things look worse for Utd and L'pool and better for City and Chelsea.
There definitely seems to be an agenda whereby Chelsea never get questioned about the money they spend, isn't it over a billion in 2 years? . Much is said of our failures but never a word about Chelsea's. Given the number of player's they signed must be many.
How many are they going to sign this window? Should be a competition, how many signings will Chelsea make this window. I go for 11.
{Ed077's Note - Chelsea have sold most of the club assets to the owners, to get round the FFP issues. How that complies with PSR is something way beyond my comprehension. Why isn't there a big news cycle on them selling off the hotels, the women's team, everything off to "truck" the financial rules? Less said about City the better
7.) 20 Jun 2025 18:31:19
That's right Ed, they found a bag of chips outside the ground and tried to flog those as well. Supposedly the authorities checked these deals out and gave them the all clear.
It may be paranoid, but I genuinely believe these financial rules are not trying to ensure financial stability and sustainability but merely a power grab by the authorities who could see their control waning and used the issue of finance to re-establish dominance.
8.) 21 Jun 2025 10:25:34
Some moves happen quicker than others. Cunha for example was an easy deal to conclude, he only wanted to join us, and had a set release clause value.
Mbeumo on the other hand has had options from other clubs that he has seriously considered, but supposedly has decided he wants to join us. While Brentford don't have to sell as there isn't a set fee, and they want as much as they can get for their best player. They've tried to get other clubs involved to create a bidding war, and they are holding out for as much as they can get. While United have many positions that we need to recruit while being sensible with spending to avoid breaking PSR rules.
There are also two other factors that will likely be dragging this one out. Firstly Mbeumo is on holiday and isn't available to complete his medical etc. So no need to try and rush something through. Secondly, if the deal is concluded after the end of June it goes on next year's accounts, while we also have the final COVID impacted year drop off of the PSR calculations which makes a difference on what we can afford to spend.
I expect this deal will be concluded in the first few days of July for those reasons.
22 May 2025 10:32:18
Think people need to wake up and lower expectations we haven’t been one of the biggest clubs for over a decade yet we talk like we are and we talk like we are still in the Fergie era.
That is long gone, we are an average squad that give well below average performances, the culture and environment is toxic not only within the club but outside the club aswell,
You can see it with players like Garnacho coming out and giving stupid interviews and sharing posts on twitter, there is a reason we are so poor and it’s far from the manager.
This squad has been built by multiple managers to fit systems that non of them can play, yet here we are again (some) calling for the managers head again.
But if we actually take the emotion out of it last nights game we should have won, spurs had 3 shots all game and the one big chance they had they scored through some diabolical defending yet again from players that should have been sold and replaced 5 years ago.
Are inability to do what’s needed is one of the reasons we are so low. Yet people call for change year in year out and when we have someone that’s trying to do it the first thought it’s get him gone when he said himself when he joined it is going to get worse before it gets better.
He has shown the limitations of the majority of these players.
The same people that were calling for ten hag to go because he had no style of play, he had no authority, had no backbone to make the hard calls yet here we are again calling for his head when that is what he’s trying to do.
This is the same group of players that lost 14 games in the prem last year, and finished on -1 goal difference.
Winning that fa cup was the worst thing that happened last season, yet again it papered over the cracks, then they gave a guy everyone wanted gone 200 plus million to then sack a few months later
To then hire a guy who didn’t want to come till the summer, bought him one 20 year old kid and expected him to make miracles
I Gurentee with ten hag we wouldn’t have got out the group phase never mind the final.
This squad is not fit to play in any system, they don’t have the balls or desire to want to work and win, whose fault was it last year when we played multiple systems?
Who fault was it the year before that?
I say it quite a lot but look at pep when he took over city, they had not long just won a title, they were getting beat most weeks and only finished 4th on good
But did he change his way of playing to suit players that wasn’t fit to play it? No he replaced those players and stuck to his principles
He got rid of the rot and the ones that were bad for the morale and the rest is history.
I’m not saying Amorim is the second coming of pep but we need to wake up this squad is the worst united team in the last 60 years. yet somehow we have managed to win some trophies and get to finals there is no consistency with this team.
And it’s the same players every week…
We have a Harry Kane or an isak up top last night and we win the game, if even go as far as having Vardy up top and we win that game.
The players just aren't very good and they haven’t been for years, with any manager.
Ineos need to give him the players to fit his system and he needs to be given time.
And they need to be ruthless for any player that doesn’t fit his system needs to be replaced.
But I’m still sticking by if we get a new front 3 we look and perform miles better next season
Anyway rant over… thank god there’s only 1 game left of the season ??.
{Ed025's Note - you make it sound that with a couple of good forwards you then turn into a good team Bolger, please tell me besides Bruno and possibly Harry who has had a good campaign this season?, lets be realistic mate..
1.) 22 May 2025 11:06:58
So Amorim gets pass because they players are bad.
Garnacho, Hojlund and Mainoo have significantly regressed under RA. As bad as Hojlund has been he is better than his level and we have seen him play well under EtH.
I think the responsibility of a team ultimately lies with the coach. It’s their job set up, select and motivate a group to win a match. RA has failed.
I also think it would be a huge mistake to buy players to suit this formation. Mainly as even after a significant period of time a team of mainly international footballers cannot demonstrate and unique value or potential in the style.
If it was me I’d hold him to his suggestion of leaving without compensation and hire Frank.
2.) 22 May 2025 11:10:30
Woulda, shoulda, coulda
I just don't see it.
3.) 22 May 2025 11:39:59
I don’t think there’s much doubt that with a couple of forwards we’d score more goals. Though we need much more than that. I am finally in the camp that wants most of them gone. Attitude is our biggest problem. It’s been that way for a while. That is senior players in retirement mode. Get rid.
4.) 22 May 2025 11:59:21
You are right we aren't a big club which is why we don't have a kane or isak. But we wasted money on zirkzee and hojlund rather than go for a Watkins or a Richarlison.
He should be getting more out of the team regardless of system. That's what management is.
It will get worse before it gets better. Impossible to know for sure but computer algorithms based on amorims results shows that without the points earned by ten hag and rvn we would have been relegated if amorim had been in charge all season.
5.) 22 May 2025 12:01:08
Hojland scored 10 goals last season not exactly a top striker return is it and how many on here have said he’s not good enough.
I’ve seen better Sunday league strikers. He is awful.
Not saying he gets a pass but he’s come into a team that doesn’t suit his style after he said he wanted to come in the summer and he’s been given 1 player a 20 year old kid.
But let’s get rid of him keep the same team that’s under performing every season.
Think you need to judge him with a few players and a full pre season.
6.) 22 May 2025 12:01:28
If we lower expectations anymore, we would literally be in the championship lol.
7.) 22 May 2025 12:02:24
Bolger, it needs more than just a front 3; otherwise, I agree with you fully.
8.) 22 May 2025 12:07:28
UTD Road, what on earth makes you think that Frank would want to leave a club where he's doing a grand job, or any other manager, to leave and want to join us?
To simply say "and hire Frank" is so pretentious and arrogant, it's beyond believable!
9.) 22 May 2025 11:31:56
Not at all Ed, but we don’t score goals, you can't win a game if you don’t score and it’s shown consistently this season.
For example if we had the front 3 of rashford cavani greenwood when ole was manager we would be miles better off.
Make no mistake the whole team has been poor, not one single player has been good enough but there’s been games where we’ve lost when we’ve conceded first after we should have scored ourselves.
You score first it’s a totally different game.
It highlighted it yesterday, comical defending for such a poor goal to concede, but we had chances before and after to score.
We just don’t have the forwards that make the difference.
And Bruno had a decent little spell but he’s been poor, and players like Maguire should have been replaced years ago.
Because he’s got a few important goals people have changed their tone on him. Let’s make no mistake he is poor just like 90 percent of the squad.
And the players should be replaced before yet another manager imo.
He needs time. Regardless of where we finish on Sunday he needs to be given the players and time.
{Ed025's Note - being able to score is very important Bolger and the players you have are just not up to the task, but replacing them will not alone turn you into a decent side mate, all over the team there are weaknesses and for me there has been no improvement at all which is why for me the buck stops at the manager..
10.) 22 May 2025 14:13:36
Because Frank was viewed as attainable.
It’s end of season.
He’s been a Brentford a while.
It’s Brentford.
It’s not arrogance, it’s a fact we’re a bigger club with pull.
Get over yourself.
11.) 22 May 2025 17:36:38
Bolger
"I Gurentee with ten hag we wouldn’t have got out the group phase never mind the final"
You are talking Gibbrish. The hardest games in the group phases were away to Porto and away to the Turkish guys. I was there last night this is 10x worse than we played under eth. The team looks like someone has neutured them. Seen a lot of united teams live over the years this is the worst I have seen us play and these players or this squad are not the worse we have had even though some would like to say that.
Eth was blamed for everything but this guy seems to get a free pass after repeatedly sh. tting the bed and its teflon rubin its all someone elses fault according to some you .
Besides bruno and amad everyone else gone backwards this year compared to last and that's on the manager.
12.) 22 May 2025 17:53:05
Utd Road, and right there is the arrogance of which I speak. Are you Maize?
?.
13.) 22 May 2025 12:24:06
I agree Ed the players are not up to the task but I can’t judge him fully yet untill he’s got some players for his system and espically a forward line that can score a goal.
He’s done great getting us to the Europa final which I don’t think we would have got if ten hag was manager.
But imo I think if we get a better front line we improve along side a keeper. For me those are the main areas needed for a start.
16 May 2025 22:39:35
Has there been a worse striker in prem history for United than hojland
Genuine question can anyone remember anyone worse we’ve had leading the line?
The forward line is as bad as it comes anyway but watching him lead the line every game is astonishing
He has 0 hold up play, his link up play is poor and his runs are worse.
Doesn’t win a header and his passing is just as bad.
Yet because we have no one else he plays 90 minutes every week.
He cannot play up top Wednesday someone else needs to play there.
1.) 16 May 2025 23:14:10
Bolger I think we can agree that Hojlund has been awful, whether he can recover his career in a different league/ team only time will tell but he currently looks a few years away.
Unfortunately he will lead the line on Wednesday as we have no other option, we have not tried a false 9 so think he will start and change if needed.
2.) 16 May 2025 23:17:05
Gary Birtles, couldn't hit a barn door in the wind.
And Peter Dave port, fck me, chocolate legs.
3.) 16 May 2025 23:37:44
I was discussing this today.
Over the years we’ve had extremely talented strikers such as Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatog, Cavani, Ibra
And to now having a striker who has 1 goal in about 27 games leading the line for us shows how much we have fallen.
He seems to lack the basic understanding of an attacker. Being in the box, making direct runs etc. His positioning is dreadful.
Also, if I had a £1 for Everytime he would have his back to goal and shield the ball I’d be filthy rich. The most frustrating thing ever!
4.) 17 May 2025 00:21:32
I was one of the first to defend him for a lack of service and to a certain extent I still do. If he had a regular service then maybe just maybe he would have improved as the season progressed.
BUT
He is proper pants. I cannot defend his performances any more. Needs to move on to a league where he can thrive. Maybe Dutch division 4.
5.) 17 May 2025 02:42:29
His performances can’t just be put down to a lack of confidence now, he is just not good enough. It’s a shame as he has the characteristics to be a good player, he’s strong, he’s quick, he’s athletic. Unfortunately his touch is awful and his runs into the box, well, embarrassing at best. I am sick to death at this point of him running into a player, backing in to him and then losing the header or duel, it’s 10-20 times a game at this point. I agree he shouldn’t play next week but not sure there is another option, although there isn’t one player in the squad who would do worse than him, it’s impossible to be worse than his current performances.
6.) 17 May 2025 02:46:57
His confidence has been shattered by comments like these. There has been no hiding place, no one else to come in. For the first half of the season he made good runs, he worked hard, he held the ball up and laid it off only for the his team mates to shoot on sight, and totally ignore him. Even when they cross, they ignore his run and cut the ball back, usually to noone.
We need hoylund on wednesday. We need him to get a goal or two. The only other option is to play Fernandes false nine (which he has not done at all this year), or maybe mount. How confident do you feel if we do that.
Maybe we just give blind and hopeful support to the lad and hope he can show us some of his best play when it matters most. I'd like to think that might increase our chances that deciding to stick the daggers in further and twist.
7.) 17 May 2025 03:20:34
Khabib hojland wrestling at corners. Falling over when attacking. Zirkzee gets a lot of stick but compare the two of them and which one do ye think is an actual footballer.
8.) 17 May 2025 08:05:03
How were we left with the only options being Hojland and Zirkzee? Our club had Cole Yorke Sheringham and Ole. People say ETH was not to blame yet when we couldn’t score goals for two seasons because ETH didn’t deal with it before, Hojland was his answer and then Zirkzee arrived, still only 2 strikers. I also watched Hojlands awful pre game warm ups live last season, the barn door was safe.
We need two more goal scoring strikers next season not one. Oshimen and Jonathan David would transform us but you can see the club wanting Delap and some donkey.
9.) 17 May 2025 08:10:52
I’m sorry Dodgy but Hojlund is offering nothing to the team, I would rather see Maguire play the No. 9 role as he has proved more effective over the last few months.
It’s a big call by Amorim, but he should drop Hojlund, go with Mount, Garnacho, Amad and Bruno as the attack.
10.) 17 May 2025 08:52:43
Keane’s comments and has been my feelings posted on here on Hojland since last season as well.
“They have got no striker, '. 'Hojlund tonight, he looked like the young kid from Chelsea. He looked like he had just come out of the academy. His runs weren't right, his timing, his hold-up play. Again, if you're a striker playing for Man United. even for the whole team, one shot on target? When asked if he could be better with 'more quality around him, ' Keane replied: 'We keep making excuses for him. We talk about confidence, but you still think, when you're a striker, you have to make something happen sometimes. What the big clubs have - and what United have always had - is strikers who can produce something for themselves even if they're not getting great service. They produce something because they have quality, a bit of determination, a bit of experience, football intelligence. We don't see that with Hojlund. His side are up against it all the time. Obviously he needs a little bit of support, but, my goodness, sometimes you have just got to do a little bit better. '
He then went on to say he is third or fourth choice standard striker.
What those who have a go at Amorim should consider is we score zero because of players almost solely bought or agreed to be bought under the previous useless managers and whichever idiot spent £220m last summer for ETH without solving the goal scoring issue. Zero quality up front, zero goals, zero points, it’s not rocket science.
11.) 17 May 2025 09:28:45
I'm with KEEFY and Red Man regarding Hoijland. I used to defend him, but not anymore. It's shocking!
12.) 17 May 2025 09:29:57
I agree; there's no point in playing him. Waste of a shirt.
I'd go with either Amad up top running in behind or (can't believe i'm saying this) Maguire who will at least provide a presence and occupy their centre backs.
13.) 17 May 2025 09:35:00
Just seen a mental stat there Amos record now in the league is worse than Nevilles at Valencia where the fcuk do our board find these guys lucky bags Amo better win the Europa salvage something that's a Paul Jewell type season he's given us.
14.) 17 May 2025 10:59:18
I agree with everything you have said about Hoijland, redman but 18 league defeats, no back to back wins, 8 Premier league defeats in a row is on Amorim. I don't want him sacked. He needs time to do his thing but the team has never looked as bad. Eth bought terrible players, he joined mid season and whatever other excuses are out there are excuses that no other manager would get away with. Amorim must have the best PR in world football.
15.) 17 May 2025 11:28:44
Brum boi
Amorim must get the players needed including goal scorers in summer, then given time to put things right. The cup final result should be irrelevant to his future if we want to build the club. He came in when we were shocking, the management knowing he wanted to implement a whole new style and the players they had bought were wrong. There will have been a discussion on the impact of the coach change, so if they don’t support him this summer and give him time, then they are quite frankly a bunch of incompetent idiots.
16.) 17 May 2025 11:32:21
He drives me mad.
Needs to be dropped on Weds. Play Mount as the false 9.
17.) 17 May 2025 12:30:00
At last woke up and smelled the coffee!
18.) 17 May 2025 12:58:03
Banjoe
No manager or Head Coach can win games when we score zero and have no forwards who can score. We spent two years struggling to score, now it has come home to roost. Whoever made the decision to keep ETH and spend as they did last summer is where the fault lies for this season. Looks like a few don’t get that this is what pain and open heart surgery looks like and summer is part of it and needs to be strong. If you want short termism bring in Sean Dyche, win a few games. Then realise we still need a major change.
19.) 17 May 2025 14:49:16
I'm not dumb redman, I know there is a rebuild. He needs players but blaming ten hag for everything is wrong too. We are supposed to just have faith that this system, this plan when all is done will have us competing again. I'm not so sure. These players are not great but Amorim has them playing worse than they ever did before. Let's see how much he believes in his system at the final.
20.) 17 May 2025 17:16:58
Red man still on that train. You have all your excuses lined up if RA goes. Nicely done.
21.) 17 May 2025 19:17:50
German,
Let me guess, you told us all ages ago.
27 Feb 2025 09:00:22
So yet another player goes down the tunnel after being taken off.
Why is it the ego on these players can’t take a decision from the manager. yet again more headlines and more unwanted questions will be again asked, like we haven’t got enough to worry about.
Doesn’t matter if it was the right or wrong choice of player the manager made his decision you take it on the chin and support your team mates, then typical of the person he is he runs to social media to post his disappointment.
To many players think there bigger and better than what they are at this club. we need to reset
As for the game I thought the first half other than the 2 gifts of goals by that goal keeper again. we played well in the first half.
He needs to be replaced that keeper, he has no authority of his own box, doesn’t claim crosses, palms the ball when he does make a save back into the path of the other team and for me he makes everyone infront of him nervous.
That first goal why is he not screaming keepers, 2nd goal he should be commanding his area he again is on his line, just shocking he reminds me of bartez a liability.
A win is a win but man I can’t wait for this season to be over.
1.) 27 Feb 2025 10:10:00
Funnily enough ETH commented on this in a recent interview.
Players just don't have thick enough skins anymore and don't respond well to criticism. Which I think is a plague at our club.
As for the goalkeeper, I don't think there is any more than can be said that hasn't already. He is just a generally poor goalkeeper. Parries everything into danger, positioning is poor and haven't seen any of this world class distribution to make up for it. DDG has better pass conversion this year. Acts over confident to make up for his lack of ability.
Wasn't a huge fan of Bayindir, but after his FA cup game, I would seriously be giving him a run of games to prove himself. I think we should be in the market in the summer for a new Number 1.
2.) 27 Feb 2025 10:27:16
KH,
I think if he hadn't been injured, Bayinder would have played more games.
3.) 27 Feb 2025 14:12:40
Very slow off his line, which creates doubt in the defender's mind. The first goal yesterday he should have been there before Dorgu, or stayed on his line. The delayed run caused the confusion as Dorgu looked upwards to pull the ball out of the sky. As for the second it was a very teasing ball and he really doesn't know whether to cover the far post or a touch from Delap.
Distribution is way below average. Maybe it looked better in Italy where perhaps teams don't press as effectively. Maybe the Manchester weather doesn't suit him. He's had enough time now to establish himself. It's clear he's not up to par. I thought he might get better once assimilated, but no. Another very poor acquisition by the previous administration.
4.) 27 Feb 2025 15:12:24
He will get sold in the summer and we will get a big fee for him. He will struggle to adapt to Amorim's management style as he is very self centered. He is a good player and still very young and his best years are ahead of him. he will not go on the cheap imo.
5.) 27 Feb 2025 22:23:48
Did Garnacho not signal that he was going to change his gear. I don't think he stormed off.
6.) 28 Feb 2025 06:46:35
Boy needs to go. Terrible attitude and all that is wrong with the club atm is in this boy. Get rid.
7.) 28 Feb 2025 09:05:05
Going changing his wet kit is all that is wrong with the club? I think the ‘fans’ are one of the things that is wrong with the club, embarrassing.
8.) 28 Feb 2025 11:38:06
Not all fans gds2 but you're very right.
13 Jan 2025 21:37:08
Not sure if it’s been talked about but the clip of our player sprinting yes sprinting back from a corner like there life’s depended on it was so refreshing to see
It’s not much to ask for, work like dogs and give your absolute everything.
Actually looking forward to weekends game and it’s a been a while since I’ve felt like this.
1.) 13 Jan 2025 22:36:42
Don’t even have to wait until weekend, 2 home games coming up this week, let’s see if we can put that effort in at home.
20 Jun 2025 16:10:55
Just a keeper can that actually make a save that doesn’t parry it back into danger, or someone who can claim and command his box.
There’s 1000s of keepers below the championship that are better than both keepers we have now.
04 Jun 2025 13:23:22
Managers normally like to bring a player they have worked with before.
A striker is a must for us I think if we can get some sales in we will sign him.
Other than gyokores, oshimen and i'd say kane there’s not many strikers out there
The pool for strikers is so poor compared to the 2000s
A dying breed strikers atm.
03 Jun 2025 12:33:53
Love to know what terms he wanted for them to not agree
And where he thinks he will get those terms
Another masterclass from Woodward and co giving players big contracts.
29 May 2025 13:17:18
Let’s give another player who publicly on more than one occasion has under-minded a manger who was signed for the right but moaned and said he didn’t want to play there
No thanks.

Questions should be asked to the glazers, where is all the money they got from selling there shares, why haven’t they reinvested it into the club
Instead ineos are getting the brunt of it. some is probably right no one likes to see people lose there jobs espically when we have the likes of rashford, sancho casimro still on the wages they are on
But again that’s no fault of the club for giving them the wages
The debt is a joke, should not be allowed to continue to let it build and build and just pay of interest payments they should be make to clear the debt
Imagine the uproar if they were taking dividends still.
Won’t be long till they are taking those again.

Think the only way we are getting rid of those two is on loan.
Sancho won’t lower his wages he is another one who we will lose on a free next year.
Clubs own mess giving those players big contracts
And garnachos ego and attitude isn’t helping him with potential new clubs.

Do we want Oshimen tho? Don’t think we do.
In terms of delap and gyokores they are quite similar, both are runners with the ball, like to battle and hold up the play, zirkzee was here before Amorim and is not a striker.

He’s been out with an acl so hasn’t played for ages. is going for a free as his contract is expiring.

31 is nothing in this day and age, he could easily play till he’s 35 plus. is never injured.
And he’s our best player by a country mile, although the money is very tempting you would have to be sure the players you bring in replace his output.
But then again if you get an offer of 100 million are you going to turn it down? If we are rebuilding and its takes 3/ 5 years before anything significant is he going to be around to contribute
He could decline but he could just be entering his prime and with a few signings and better players around him do even better
Hard one, wouldn’t be judge him leaving and wouldn’t slag the club off for selling him
It is what it is, players come and go.

Obviously de ligt has captained at a young age, but if it was me I’d give it to yoro. doesn’t always have to be someone experienced but I would expect it to be casimiro if Bruno was to leave and casimiro stays.
Unless a new signing comes in at gets it.
