Paul scholes won 11 premiership titles and never won player of the year.

I'll leave that there.

{Ed047's Note - I guess that’s what happens when you don’t encapsulate everything good in your clubs title win.

Paul Scholes played with a great group of players and never sought the limelight.

Henderson is a very good player, better than most give him credit for, but where he truly excels is as a leader. He brings a very good Liverpool side together and gets them playing greater than the sum of their parts.

In a similar way to Roy Keane but without being a psychopath.

While VvD and Alisson have transformed the defence that kept leaking silly goals and lack cohesion, and Salah and Mane terrorise defences. Firmino and Fabinho do hugely important work for others around them. While Trent Alexander-Arnold is a truly special player. It is Henderson that drives them on, pulls them together and gets that extra 10% out of every player on the pitch.

He is the captain Gerrard always thought he was, and could have been had it not always had to be about him.

I don't think you can deny the captain of the league winning team from being named POTY. While there are far more talented players in the league, you would find it hard to name a more influential player this season.

{Ed047's Note - have to say, that’s a great reply Shappy.

Do u guys think lpool wouldn't have won the league without henderson?

Of course they would have. They have 5 or 6 players in that team that make the difference. That's crap Henderson gets another 10% out of them. And they have a combined 11 that would probably walk in to any other team definitely 9 of them.

Leahy he was one of the reasons we didn’t win it in 2014 when he got suspended, I’m pretty sure he was injured in our mini slump last year and he was injured when our performances dipped after winning the title.
He accepts nothing less then 100% from those around him. He’s an easy target for rival fans but he is the leader of the team. So mbd we probably wouldn’t of won it without him.
Similar to the effect kompany had on city, it’s no coincidence that they tailed off as much as they have after he left.

The season under Rodgers where we almost won, was lost because Henderson was banned. Yes, we have some of the best players in the world, but so did England's golden generation. Henderson is a true leader.

What rubbish take vvd out for an extended period and keep Henderson in and see what happens. don't underestimate the importance of having basically the best cb in world football in your team. U can sing hendersons praises all you want but you can not replace allison or vvd even mane I would say because your "defensive" striker isn't going to fire you to the league.

Bobby will never get the praise from opposing fans as he isn’t watched week in week out but he’s the reason mane and salah do so well, he creates space which allows them to do their thing.
People seem to forget that Alisson missed first 10 games of the season but we didn’t falter.
VVD hasn’t been injured much so we won’t know if that’s the case until he’s missing for a chunk of games but I still stand by the fact that Henderson is hugely important to the success of the team.
