Reading a lot about Pogba today, one thing that I don't agree with is people saying "play him in a good team with good players he'll be class". The top players (which he obviously classes himself as) pull their teams through even when the players around them are poor.

Steven Gerrard is a good example of this. Pogba is a MOTD player, 5 minutes of sheer brilliance, then 85 of pure frustration. Loses concentration and leave his runner over and over, never learns.

He's a luxury we can't afford to carry. If selling him meant us getting Saul I'd love to see him go.

{Ed047's Note - as I was reading your post I was again thinking swap him out for Saul and there it was right at the end.

Him, Bruno and VDB would be an awesome midfield 3, get Thiago as well and happy days!

Pogba getting a rough ride on here at the minute . I have to be honest I always think we are a better watch and more likely to win when he's playing compared to when he's not .
I don't know too much about van de beek or saul as I never watch dutch football and since the spanish football isn't on sky anymore I never see a spanish game . But they both seem highly rated by people on here so il bow to their judgement .
To me kevin de bruyne is the midfielder / attacker that I find streets ahead of anyone .
Maybe I like pogba because before bruno he had way more creation in him than fred, mctom or matic, I'd happily admit there are a fair few players better than him but I find him better than the players i just mentioned.

Agree Ed. Saul with them two would be top draw. Need a top CB for me more urgently than any position tho.

I really like Sancho as a player but we could potentially sign Reguilon / Telles, Upamecano, Bale and Thiago for not a huge amount more considering the total cost of Sancho. As good as Sancho is, we'd be infinitely better with the second option even though Bale could be a mistake.

Stand . I'm aware pogba hant maybe hit the heights he's capable of, midfield / attack requires many different skill sets but I think pogba is a fair bit better than atleast 6 other options matic, mctom, fred, mata, lingard and piereria.

Yh you can't have it both way, the likes of lingard, pereira, mata, rashford, martial, james, lukaku, sanchez, mkhitaryan, matic, fred, mctominay and other i am probably forgetting have all been criticised heavily on this forum, yet the expectation is that pogba should drag them over the line for trophies.

Just look at messi last season, the greatest individual player of all time and his team fell woefully short because they have become a very poor and aged team.

No matter how good the individual player is, it is all about the team and at a time when we look like we are putting together a young, balanced and promising team, it seems like an odd time to single pogba out especially when i thought he played well post lockdown and gave the midfield a lot of balance.
