Can't just be me who's starting to think AWB has been a bad buy? He gets given the ball in some great positions to bomb on but either fumbles into the opposing winger or fullback, or cuts inside and has to pass back. His end product has not improved at all since we signed him.

Horses for courses red, when you need to snuff out Neymar, mbabbe ect he's decent, when you want a fullback bombing on not so much, hence the trippier I'd guess.

I wouldn’t write him off as a “bad buy” but, as much as I’ve always been a massive advocate of him and how good he is defensively particularly 1v1, I was hoping for more of an improvement in his offensive play in order to become at least closer to that all round full-back you’d expect for £50m. There’s definitely a place in the squad for an AWB (he is perfect vs certain opposition and tailor made to be right of a back three imo if we were to change formation) but I’m feeling less and less confident it’s as our undisputed first choice in the long-term for the reasons above, as well as I think positionally he’s been switching off and getting caught out more in recent times.

Players improve with proper coaching

Identifying any weaknesses and working on the coaching sessions to improve these

Not just individual but also collective shortcomings

There’s plenty of players who have been written off by managers and clubs only to grow and mature under genuine coaching and instruction

This also requires the players to work hard and want to improve and develop

Sometimes our whole defence looks like strangers to each other. And not just the defence, but the whole unit are either free flowing and scoring goals or alternatively lacking any intensity or cohesion

It’s been the way for a few years now and needs to have been addressed far sooner

Hopefully it will improve, the players will work together on a properly coached approach and system of play

We wait to see.

Kind of suggests that there is a lack of coaching both for individuals and as a team does it not?

One v One AWB rarely get beaten but offensively he has not improved much. Now and again he does put in a good cross so he obviously can do it but he needs to be coached to do so more regularly. To be fair to him at times when he went forward today he had hardly anyone helping him bg overlapping or a target man in the penalty area to aim for.

Ole is incapable of coaching a bag of rocks, so I wouldn't expect his coaching to improve any of the players. Him not coaching the side during training sessions is not by design. It's because he's limited, tactically inept.

A number of our players have improved under Ole from where they were under Jose, is that just a coincidence?

I remember Ole scoring the goal that won Utd a Champions League back in the treble season of 1999. legendary player. I also remember Ole the Cardiff manager. he cleared out most of the team that had won promotion to the Premier League. signed his own players and then chopped and changed almost every game never getting a settled team. Ole will remain a club legend as a player in my mind. but whoever thought that a manager that got Cardiff relegated would ever have the necessary to manage a club of Utd's stature must have been smoking some serious stuff.
Ole needs to go. we can forget winning anything whilst he's in charge.

1 draw Georgie, we won 5-1 last week, let’s let the new signings settle and see where we are, if things aren’t going great then yes it’s probably time to get rid, the club aren’t going to sack the manager because of a draw just after he’s signed a new contract so it’s pointless to keep saying it, people calling for it are just going to be disappointed.
