James Robson has captured United approach to transfers perfectly:

Waited too long to sign Sesko - usual businessman haggling approach which doesn’t work in modern football (Glazers penny pinching) ; should just paid the fee and Woukd have got him. But no, United in their arrogance thought they could negotiate better deal as player bound to want to come to United and wait for them to agree a lower fee.

Thus evolution of a United transfer:

Nunez (Liverpool just paid) - Anthony (couldn’t haggle price down) - Sesko (could’ve just paid) - Arnautovic….

How just do incompetent…,

Won’t change while businessmen make the decisions or get a decent scouting structure.

Please not Arnautovic.

Unless Ten Hag pulls this disastrous squad together, I think it could get even more uncomfortable for the owners.

Coming up on a decade since we've won the league, there have always been people in the way shielding the Glazers somewhat. Each new manager bringing a fresh start and some optimism. We've signed some big names in football albeit with several of them passed their sell by date.

The Glazer masterstroke of pulling on the sentimental heartstrings hiring Ole bought them time. With many fans caught up in a civil war of whether Ole was second coming of Fergie. Sadly for us he was more Darren Ferguson and not Alex.

Now we have a coach on the way up. If he didn't sign for us he would have been on the shortlist for the top jobs in football very soon. If these players resort to type and we have another poor season, Ten Hag won't be in the firing line. There's no Woodward to take the blame, there's no smiling manager to take the blame. It will lay solely at the feet of the owners.

Now they're probably impervious to feeling any sort of pressure from fans as they've been hated everywhere they've gone in the sporting world. But the tide has changed. With the likes of Neville using every chance he gets on national TV to say "sell up". I genuinelly think we're a few underwhelming signings and one poor season away from empty stadiums and mass protests.

Murtagh showed some of his cards when he engaged with the fans. He said something like "the protests make us look bad in front of our sponsors" even though we think the owners are bulletproof. With cracks in the stadium being visible, maybe the cracks in the ownership are starting to show.

Some job Mr Ten Hag has on his shoulders.

I don't think the Glazers care as the get their dividends and the debt is on the club. i don't see them being forced out at all personally even if i would like them to go.

In my opinion if things continue as they are it will be ETH that ends up taking the fall. Its quite toxic in our club at the moment what with the team being booed off after 45 minutes of competitive season and players (even new ones) being written off after one game (obviously people who forget about evra/ vidic first games etc) .

I was hoping that the fans (not supporters) would cut a bit of slack considering a new coach, trying to create a new team identity etc but it appears not. I would be surprised if any player wants to join having heard everything last season or the response at half time on sunday.

Just so negative at the moment and I am not saying people should not have the right to voice their opinion just that i cannot see how voicing it in the first competetive game is fair or what benefits it brings the team, individual players or time for ETH to try and get things right. Am sure people will disagree with me and that is cool, we all think differently but would be interested in peoples thoughts on how booing helps?

They’ll only sell when the club is on its knees and stops being a personal ATM for them.

I mean there were chants from United fans at the Brighton game wishing death on the Glazers, along with brawls breaking out amongst United fans.

It does seem like its becoming ever more fractious at the club and certainly an uncomfortable place to be. I can't imagine many people would want to sit in the Directors box at Old Trafford while thousands of people chant death threats at you.

How long until some idiot decides to try and act out those threats. It could become dangerous.

While the reality is the Team Viewer like Chevrolet before them have no intention of extending or renewing their shirt sponsorship deal.

While a club stuck in mid-table mediocrity will also put off new sponsors and current ones from renewing sponsorship. Or at the very least put them off at previous figures, and would expect to pay far less than before. While Richard Arnold told fans that the protests themselves are off putting to sponsors and restrict the clubs ability to bring income in to the club.

Sponsorship drying up, lack of UCL funds and penalties tied into current sponsorship deal due to a lack of UCL football, along with a growing fractious and disenchanted fanbase who are chanting death threats during games.

Things could be coming to a head, unfortunately for United fans things will likely have to get much worst before they have any chance of getting better.

TBF we were being quoted 50 million pound for Sesko and he has now been sold to Leipzig for 24mil euros, understand we need reinforcements but being bent over a barrel is what got us in this mess.
