What do we think on Bruno? Will eth remove the captaincy from him or let him have it until the end of the season and then assign a new permanent holder? (when Maguire leaves. hopefully) .

Difficult one as either option could have adverse effects on squad morale, especially after his performance on Sunday.

Honestly I can't see eth changing it until the season is over and then I can see him appointing someone like varane or Casemiro permanently.

Red in peace,

I think the smart move is just to drop him for a game and see how he reacts.

He has talent, and he knows how to get under opponents skin. He just needs to channel it better. Right now, he comes across ss someone who hates when it isn't going his way. I don't think taking the captaincy off him does anyone any favours but dropping him sends a clear message the behaviour isn't accepted.

I said it on the liverpool page, but the worse thing he did on the weekend was dive out of certain contact with Ali. The whinging is one thing but doing that cost you a certain pen and at 3-1 the game is different especially with Madrid so recent in our minds.

Shall we cut the fella a little bit of slack. Let's be honest, he's played 90 minutes in 16 of the last 17 games where we have been averaging a game every 3.5 days. You can do this when winning but in that game when it was going horribly wrong on everything, I expect a bit of tiredness and fatigue, physically and mentally kick in.

He didn't ask to come off, Neville was talking absolute nonsense. And the hand to the face, massively over reacted and went down like a sack of potatoes but Konate's hand does catch his chin and there are players all over the premier league who react like that. Not suggesting that's ok but let's not pretend Fernandes is the only one who does that and this was an unheard of reaction from a Premier League player.

When Solsjkaer was getting slated it was Fernandes who fronted it and took the blame. Against City he made sure Rashford got the credit he deserved. He wants to win every game and plays wherever he is asked to play and more often or not turns up.

IMO Roy Keane is the greatest Premier League Captain there has ever been but his leadership was very questionable too on occasions. I think Fernandes is doing ok and I'd rather a captain who everyone hates because he is desperate to win than a captain who laughs and hugs the opposition after they beat us similar to what we saw against City last season!

Would you keep him as permanent captain ports or is there someone else in the squad who you think is better suited?

He wouldn't be my choice, but there's still a lot to play for this season. Why change it now, and risk disruption in the squad, as well as possibly alienating one of our main players. ETH, that last game aside, has fostered a proper ethic at the club. I would imagine if there is a change, he'll wait to the end of the season. I'd trust him to make the decision, either way.

Why would eth change it Tim?
How many games in the last 20 have we lost with Bruno as captain?

To be honest Tim, the main candidates IMO are Fernandes, Casemiro, Varane and De Gea. De Gea will always be suggested due to his time with the club but is that a reason? Maguire got picked ahead of him at the time and I always prefer an outfield player as captain.

Casemiro and Varane are great leaders through the way they play but to be honest they don’t scream captains for me. Yes Varane told the players to go to the away fans on Sunday but I just don’t see him as a captain. Same with Casemiro, think people look at their achievements and think that makes a good captain.

For me, this team need someone to keep on at them, demand performance, get in the refs ear now and again, put in more good then bad performances and also play regularly. For me at the moment this is Fernandes.

Martinez is an outside shout but think he’s a bit to volatile, which isn’t a bad thing but maybe not right for captain, yet.

Martinez is a decent shout. Honestly Ken I don’t think he will just wanted everyone’s thoughts on it seeing as it has been a talking point last few days. If he does lose the captaincy at the end of the season it will be more down to his demeanour and attitude at times, than results. Totally agree that changing it now could cause massive problems and after Sunday we need to keep everyone together rather than alienating invisible and dividing the squad. Reactions are key now so let’s see how the next 4 games go. Betisx2 Southampton and Fulham.

Watch this space on Bruno this summer. That's all I'll say.
