Nice to see some actual news regarding Malacia.

The surgery following the pain-killing injections make perfect sense, the quality of his performances dropped off considerably midway through last season.

The fallout from his absence being directed at ten Hag is a little harsh imo. I reckon ten Hag will have already given Alvaro, Williams and Telles assurances regarding their respective next steps and Shaw has for years been pretty robust and fortunate. I think ten Hag, under pressure, gambled a little and it's not paid off - certainly not with the additional problems concerning the solution of Reguilon.

Hopefully, the post-surgery, injury-free, Malacia returns soon as the player who first arrived - a combative, clever player who can again rival Shaw for the starting spot.

Certainly combative, but I haven't seen anything to suggest Malacia is anywhere near being a first-choice player. Just my opinion of course.

i wish him well, ETH wanted him when he managed Ajax and went in for him more than once . Personally I have been underwhelmed by him so far.

I don't rate him, i would rather play Reguilon ahead of him every game.

He was bought as a squad player and god knows we need players back. manager has very few options atm but to put a patched up back 4 out. Got to get to Christmas around top4/ top5 and hopefully kick on with key players back in the second half of the season.

Next 2 CL games are really big for us. A couple of wins will make a big difference and put our destiny in our own hands.

You say patched up back 4 but we finished higher up the table with McGuire and Lindleorf and Mc Fred as 1st choices then we did last season or very likely this season!
