Mr Ramono just done a video on MUFC transfer business and Inter await official bid for Onana whilst a 35m offer for RH was rejected by Atalanta BC.

Harry Maguire was told by ETH that he wanted him but game time will be very limited and if he seeks regular football his future may be elsewhere

7 players are expected to leave bailly, telles, DvDB, Elanga, Fred, Henderson with small fees likely to be accepted to clean house. Mr pellestri will take up a 1st team spot of the 25 if he stays as he no longer qualifies for a U21 team spot. It seems the hold up on DDG is down to Onana and the feyenoord GK.

Authoritative and learned opinions on Twitter believe that ETH wants to sort GK before striker as so urgent, plus needs loads of money to get a decent striker - maybe they’re betting on sales to boost funds for RH or GR.

It seems like the most sensible option. Considering we’ve got Antony, Amad, Garnacho, Sancho, Pellistri, Rashford and Martial as our forward options and no first choice goalkeeper. Other than De Gea signing a new contract, god forbid. Signing a goalkeeper like Onana would improve our play and I think would help us score more goals due to the ability to play a higher line and use our goalkeeper to play out of the back. I’m sure we’ll revisit the striker market after some sales and hopefully a successful takeover. But I also wouldn’t be against waiting on the striker signing until next season to have a go at Kane on a free or Ferguson, if it meant we could strengthen another area with a player we really want.

While we need a striker the market for strikers is absolutely crazy. There is a real shortage of top quality options which has seemingly pushed up the price for those in the next bracket down or those with potential.

Realistically you have a soon to be 30 year old Kane for 100m, Osimhen who Napoli want 150m+ for, or Lautaro Martinez who might be available for between 80-90m after those three its players who have had one good season such as Muani who again his club is asking for 80m+, or Goncalo Ramos who again will be around 80-100m, or young players like Ferguson or Hojlund who have in reality had half a break out season but will still cost 50m+.

That's the reality of the market, personally the only possible option that I think could be available for a reasonable price given their age, ability and experience would be Jonathan David who is reportedly available for between 40-50m. Which given that only Haaland, Kane, Mbappe, Osimhen and Lacazette have scored more league goals across Europe's top five leagues I think makes him a bit of a bargain in the current market.

Yet when we contrast that with the keeper market there are far more viable options available for a reasonable price.

Looks like everyone out there knows we are in dire need of a goalie and a striker and will charge us an extra tax.

I think sometimes you take your lumps and get on with it and only ourselves to blame. Sign both Imo and then spend the rest of the window dealing with nice to have additions depending on who we move out.

This way we have at least gotten the 3 key areas sorted and can then concentrate of a cdm and cd and long way to go in this window and will find the right players.

To win games you have to score goals. If we don’t get a good striker say goodbye to top four.

There is an open question, why did we spend £85m on Antony when that could have bought the level of striker needed? It’s done now, Antony needs to spend the close season watching Diallo and learn how to strike/ curl/ stroke the ball into the far corner. We might add 5 goals that way, yet it is the striker that needs to be top priority. Keeper is next.

Rumours about Porto’s Mehdi Teremi - quick search reveals he looks a decent short term option for now.

(Then get striker from Ed002’s list when get more money in? )

Thus (though given takeover restrictions, Glazers and FFP probably highly unlikely), a good transfer window might look like:

GK: Onana (Heaton as back up)

CDM: Arambat or Arthur Vermeeren

Attack: Teremi and G. Ramos

Depressing thing is that Liverpool, City and Chelsea would already have this done.

{Ed002's Note - Mehdi Taremi (S) Marseille are keen to take him this summer but there is a huge gap in valuation given he will soon be 31. Lille has him on a short-list of striker targets but I doubt at the top.}

The priority has to be a striker even if it means De Gea staying for another season.
We dropped loads of points last season because we missed countless chances and couldn't kill games off.
I would be really worried if we went in to the season without a proper number 9.

“Strike / curl / stroke the ball into the far corner” I swear almost all of Antony’s goals come from this method?

What is the issue that people have with Antony? My word, you’d think he had a shocking season when in all actuality he was one of our better players.

And to say that he should watch Diallo is quite insulting. Diallo is fantastic, but have a day off, RedMan.

I’ve said it before but we need to stop this stopgap mentality thing. How many stopgaps have City or Liverpool bought recently…. not many. A 31 year old Teremi is not the answer, nor was Weghorst, nor was Ighalo etc etc etc.

If we have to pay a premium for our preferred striker targets then so be it, that unfortunately is the nature of supply and demand. If not, I’d far sooner give youth a chance.

I’m glad the deal is done for MM, but the rest is this transfer window is looking like descending into chaos if you ask me. We STILL don’t have a recruitment team who can see further than the end of their noses. Frustrating.

Is there a stat on how many curling efforts Antony had, were actually on target? It seemed maybe one in 10 or more were on target, that’s not good enough. I have defended Antony, I said we need to view his progress around Christmas, yet the stark improvement needs to come from his shooting and his right foot. I am actually having a day off today.

FiremanC, the reality is that we can't spend unlimited amounts to bring in the best possible player in every position.

Sacrifices need to be made somewhere. Personally, I think we should keep some of the players we really want to sell, rather than sell them just to buy new players who are only going to be stopgaps. Loans could also be a good temporary solution. Youth players can add a little depth, but not many are ready to step up to be full time first-team players, even as backups/ squad players. I certainly don't think any of the youth strikers are ready to play a major role.

Meanwhile, if we can get real quality in a few areas, we can build on that next summer, or maybe even in January.

Anyway, relax, it's still early days, so long as we manage to move on a few of the players we are looking to sell, that should ensure we can at least get a keeper and striker, and probably at least one of DM, CB or RB, depending who is sold.

What has Antony showed you as an attacking winger in term off assists, pace or taking a man on that makes you think he will come good.

A left footed winger, who constantly tries to hit a curler form outside the box coming inside. Plenty of those around for less than 90 million.

He has 1 or 2 assists I believe having played 25 to 30 PL games. Link up play is so poor and only time he gets rid of it is when he comes into traffic and no where to go and his crossing is on par with a poor right back.

I don't know the stats but would like to know how many goals we actually created from the right hand channel. I would venture to say 90 percent of our scoring comes from the left or Centre left channel.

All our expensive club record type transfers have been a bust in the last 10 years and unfortunately he is another one. He is not a 90 mill pound player.

As a fan I don't worry if he is not playing but get nervous if Rashford, Martinez, Cas, Varrane, Bruno, Garnacho and Shaw not being available.

I watched a number of Sunderland games and Diallo can play and unbelievable with the ball, we will find out if he is Pl ready physically and from a defensive point of view and if he can do what the manger wants and not a question about his offensive capabilities.

Offensively he is more skillful and a much better link up player than Antony. Willing to go on a ledge and say if we gave pallistri or Amad 30 starts their stats will be on par or better so no clear cut gap imo.

I would daresay the GK situation is more important than striker now. At least we have a few if limited options up front, but in goal at this moment in time we are playing the ball boy in goal.

Ahmad - playing for Sunderland in the Championship is light years away from playing for Manchester United in the premier league and in Europe.
I really hope that Antony has a great season and shuts all the haters up.
I think some people on here want him to fail.

I didn't actually think Diallo was too bad when given (limited) chances before heading to Sunderland. Seemed to make more of an impact than a few of our more seasoned players. I guess maybe he was sent out to stock up a bit too, he looked like a few Prem defenders could blow him over.

Hahaha ahmad your obsession with Antony borders on crazy. It almost rivals the obsession i had with Rashford a couple of seasons ago. Are you actually comparing Diallos season to Antony? What league was Diallo playing in do you have the slightest idea? there's a reason he was sent out on loan and not kept in the first team.

Antony had a decent season, better than any of the other players who were tried on the right wing, including rashford. You need to understand that Antony is a young man in a new country and new league. Give him time to adjust. Do you know what de bruyne stats when he first came to england? Is he a bad player.

I will tell you the same thing that several posters told me when i was trashing Rashford week after week. YOU NEED TO CHILL.

When you talk “haters”, let me ensure my position is clear. I am one for giving Antony more time but he needs to improve shooting accuracy, especially trying to curl it when cutting inside and the use of his right foot.

Red Man - i think we all know that Antony has to improve but give the guy a chance.
Some people on here are obsessed with him and just constantly slag him off.
To compare Amad to Antony is ludicrous, it's just getting silly now.

Well said Sim.

If you think Diallo is at the level of Antony then you are in a dreamworld. If you think playing in the Championship has any bearing on playing at an elite level, then you are also in a dreamworld.

The idea that some think sending a 20 year old on loan to a team that almost won promotion and player of the year for them demeans a players capability and potential is puzzling. its like how fergie used to say it i guess about the neighbors cow being prettier or something like that.

Antony first season for what he cost is an absolute shi. show imo. antony is not a 90 mill player neither is sancho at 75 or maguire at 75/ 80 or whatever we paid for him and I can keep going.

These are better than average/ good players that we paid way over the top for. poor poor way to spend money imo. No hate just an opinion.

Better than average/ good players are squad players and you don't sell the farm to buy them.

Someone pointing out he was better than pallistri or elanga as a right wing option, what did they cost us and are we getting a return on 90 million investment. 4 goals 2 assists in 25 pl games. I googled that its accurate lol

No wonder the club struggles in the transfer windows and people constantly complain about the owners and never enough money available, its not an anamoly, its a trend of being stupid.

There is a player you are all discounting and I'm truly puzzled by it.
EPL proven goalscorer
Zero fee required

Going after RH or GR will command a huge fee that could be spent elsewhere, i. e. a Caicedo or another CB. Or maybe the GK.
