I mentioned the twilight zone yesterday and see GDS has done the same. Things haven't got any better today with Toure being today's alternate reality discussion point. It's like mass hysteria. Perhaps we might get Suarez, he's a decent player

1.) 21 May 2014
I wouldn't want Toure and even considering the idea is ridiculous.

2.) 21 May 2014
AJH,

I think Suarez might be interested in coming to us, after all he has built Liverpool up to a Champions League team and may want to do the same for us.

He seems like a good young lad, hard working and never got into any trouble as far as I am aware.

Maybe a bid of 15 million would tempt Liverpool to sell and we could play him up front with Robben and Cavani either side, and Toure and Strootman in the middle.

3.) 21 May 2014
There is 0 chance of us even going for Toure but saying you wouldn't want him is ridiculous fresh. borderline mental to be honest.

4.) 21 May 2014
I think he is clearly a big cry baby who we would need to spend £40 million to get. As he gets older he will get a lot worse because his style is based on physicality not skill or finesse. He won't have too many more season in him I don't think.

5.) 21 May 2014
Well feel free to bring up a topic to talk about then lads. it is a banter site after all

It does amaze me how people think it is so crazy that we could want Yaya or Robben - it is not your own money we are spending, it is a pot that has built over the past 5 years due to lack of investment and we need a couple of quick fixes with other longer term talent. Both are currently World Class, Yaya was 3rd highest scorer in Prem from midfield and is a machine that would play in any team in the world, Robben is 3rd best winger on the planet, maybe 4th if you count Bale. We don't have to manage them, we are paying LVG a fortune to do that and apparently he takes no messing. So what if they are over 30, training, nutrition, performance coaching etc is not what it was 10 years ago. These guys have 3-4 years at least at the very top left and we need a quick fix to some key areas of our team. Who knows how Reus or Sanchez would settle in the Prem and if they are even viable, I would much sooner have quality guaranteed than potential. If we buy 2 wingers one has to be Robben and why not go for Yaya, what do we have to lose. I would love us to sign Reus but I don't think it will happen, more chance with these 2 if you ask me.

Cantona was a bit of a nob when we signed him, Berbatov, Keane, Ince so many, but if they have the right manager they can hone that drama and we are crying out for some 100% world class talent. Crazier things have happened than us signing Robben & Yaya. If we have £200mil to spend plus whatever we reap from the squaddies we let go then why not spend £60-70m on 2 superstars who will propel us to the next level?

We tried the potential route and failed, we now need a bit of both.

@GDS
Good work fella!
I need to find my stash of popcorn now!

8.) 21 May 2014
Toure is just what we need ;)

Do the superstars have to be over 30 .

Yaya toure hands down is one off the best In his position in the world 31 years of age yes is getting on abit but I'd rather bid silly money for him than robben? Yaya is miles ahead off any united midfielder right now.

I'm not saying we should bid for him because quite frankly that's silly and wouldn't happen but to say we wouldn't have him is a joke

Yaya strootman
Mata

Of course not Jred, but there is no smoke without fire. These guys could be available if the situation and money is right, Reus doesn't seem available. Griezmaan massive risk, Sanchez/Pedro, risk but still quality (probably take a while to settle, Navas).

Yaya - settled in North West, what we have been crying out for since Keane left and would be a massice two fingers to City, Welcome Back to Manchester.

Robben - Prem experience, best player on the pitch everytime I watch him and fits the new coaches system.

Throw in Fab, Kroos, Shaw, Hummels. That's our money spent, plus we have a bit extra from the squad players we don't need because of lack of Europe.

Next season some of our youngsters will be ready and better from training with ready men rather than almost men.

Makes total sense to me, not to mention the statement it would send to the rest of Europe. If I were Woodward I would roll the dice.

Paying 40 mil and 200k a week makes total sense to you though .
Im going to go out and take a chance ans say I don't think we will try to sign yaya .

13.) 21 May 2014
Yes it does when I think much of that deal will be subsidised (sponsorships/merchandise) and he will be immense for the majority of the contract. We will be paying Fabregas, Kroos close to £200k and my opinion is Rooney will go which frees up £300k apparently.

£10mil a year for Yaya's next 4 years would be fine by me.

I agree with you though that it is less than a remote possibility.

I'm off to bed now dreaming of buying Kompany!

14.) 21 May 2014
Try £25m a year if you include wages and signing on fee spread over four years.
