Rumours from Holland about Amrabat going to Liverpool. Either we re skint or else we re targeting someone else like Onana or Gravenberch.

We aren’t ‘skint’ but to comply with FFP we need to sell before we can buy at the moment and seem to be struggling to get any buyers.

Move Donny on we should be able to move for him, would be a bit gutting tbh if he went there after repeatedly waiting for us. Looks like they are signing some from stuttgart tho wether it’s one for the sways tho and they’ll go for Amrabat too.

Stop pushing this FFP nonsense and peddling the Glazer propaganda. We are restricted by FFP because incompetent people are employed at the football Club who are poor negotiators and can’t sell any of our players. We have at least £100m worth of players that have no future at the Club bloating the squad and preventing the manager from re building.

This is on the Glazers and the hapless people they employ to run the football club.

There was an interesting post further down the page about the Club potentially listening to offers for the young full back Fernandez.
My take on it is these young players are easier to sell. They’re not on massive wages and many are well regarded on the back of decent loans in the Championship. Young, talented players are being sold for peanuts as the Club desperately attempts to generate some money because it can’t sell the players that really need to be moved on!

In my opinion incompetence is still rife at the football club. Many people were quick to laud this summer window and somehow came to the conclusion that Murtough had done a good job. Nonsense he’s once again proved he’s just not very good at his job. He is in no way regarded by anyone as one of the best DoF in the business. Nowhere near good enough for a Club the size of Man Utd.

As it stands Maguire, Henderson, VdB, Williams, Bailly have still not been sold. You can add Mctominay and Martial to that list as well. Reports suggest deals for the likes of Amrabat and Pavard cannot take place unless players are moved on. This is now hurting EtH and sabotaging his chances of re building the Club.

Still have a feeling we’ll manage to move Maguire on. If a club really want him then they’ll pay £35m and we’ll put the extra £5m in his pocket as severance pay.

Amrabat will still happen. He wants ten Hag.

My biggest frustration is how Liverpool get linked with Stuttgart’s captain at 8:45pm and have the famous “here we go” by 9:30pm. Why do our transfers have to come with huge noise and weeks of public negotiations?

Downsie - I hope you’re right. A proper football Club recognises it’s mistakes and rectifies them. Pay Maguire off, it’s painful, but we must take our medicine, embrace the lesson and let the manager re build the squad.

The alternative is we keep a player the manager clearly doesn’t want, he warms the bench and collects all the money anyway. After another season of hardly playing he won’t be worth £30m so they’ll ultimately end up paying for a player that’s hardly used and potentially miss out on a transfer fee altogether. If he’s not playing his value will only plummet even further.

Get these players out and give the manager the platform he needs to move the Club forward.

DLIB,

Was that aimed at me? You said stop pushing the FFP nonsense and then explained exactly why it is to do with FFP. I never said it wasn’t because we have been badly run or because we have signed useless players, I was stating facts that we need to sell before we can buy, I wasn’t pushing any nonsense at all.

Downsie,

Do you want us to buy the guy from Stuttgart for £15m? I’m assuming not as he isn’t good enough, sure we could have signed him in 5 minutes but we don’t want him.

I think Ambrabat gets done and only reason this deal does not happen is we are looking at someone else and much bigger fee and different profile. I heard its a Spanish based player and we are making some headway.

I expect something to make the news cycle either way shortly.

I think the Maguire deal has screwed up other plans to some degree but we might see that one getting done too if we bite the bullet.

Still 2 weeks to go in the window.

United are stalling on Amrabat, it isn't FFP as they can let players leave in January if they had to, plus still have two weeks left of this window. I think they are working on or hoping for someone else. I don't think he is our first choice. I could be spectacularly wrong here, but I think EtH wants Tchouameni and I think the club want to make sure they've exhausted all attempts to bring him or someone else in first. we will see. Like I said I may be very wrong.

Heard a rumour that United need to see two midfielders before they can bring Amrabat in. I guess that's Fred and Donny. But it's a risky game with clubs still needing a defensive midfielder.

No mate however I don’t like the narrative of FFP being used as a excuse to curtail investment as it’s a problem of their own making. I could have worded my post better, my intention was certainly not to be offensive to any poster so if it came across that way I apologise and I’ll try to be more care in the future. You were only relaying the nonsense being peddled by the Club I didn’t mean you were taking nonsense I hope that makes sense.

FFP is not the problem but the inept decision makers running the Club that have vastly overspent on average players, that are continually out negotiated and out manoeuvred by other Clubs and have rewarded lucrative long term contracts to underperforming players forging a toxic culture of egotistical, self indulgent, blame shifting, self proclaimed stars.

DLIB,

Don’t be daft pal I wasn’t offended, just felt like you agreed with my post but said it was nonsense so I was confused.

DLIB, I don't think anyone is absolving the Glazers from responsibility for the clubs financial position. 100% the poor running of the club has left us in this position, and ultimately the buck stops with the owners with how the club is run, they hire people and they fire people based on whether they are happy with the job they are employed to do. They also sign off on expenditures, so are taking responsibility for those expenditures in doing so.

However, the truth is that it is FFP rules that is restricting the clubs ability to bring in players. We need to both reduce the wage bill, and bring in income through transfer to spend within our limits. That's just the reality of the FFP rules.

If we were better run, had a better handle on our wage bill, hadn't spent so poorly and backed ourselves into a corner where we have substandard players on excessive contracts making it hard to move those players on, then FFP wouldn't be so restrictive to us right now.

Unfortunately we can't borrow money to buy our way out, we can't have the owners invest their own money in to buy our way out (not that they would do that), the only way out is to balance the books within FFP regulations. which means selling to buy, to both reduce the wage bill and to release funds tied up in those plyers.
