I just found out Radamel Falcao is 24 yeard old, I expexted him to be older "/ .

If we sell Berb and are in for another Striker, I think we must go for one of Benzema or Falcao.

Benzema, as Fergie wanted him for 30m, and now he 'may' be available for 25m. Would be a good price, 23 years old, bags of goals in him and a great overall talent.

Falcao, even though it was Europa league, he has put in some smashing performances! Looks a great player, and I wouldn't mind him at OT.

"Every young player that comes to the club gets ingrained with the fabric of it, " said Ferguson. "It is a first medal for Chris Smalling, Darron Gibson and Javier Hern ndez. That is a wonderful experience for them. They are the future."

I'm going to stick my neck out here. And I know this will be affected by summer transfers but here it goes. . . .

League finish next season.

1. Manchester United
2. Manchester City
3. Chelsea
4. Arsenal
5. Liverpool
6. Tottenham

Thoughts?

Luka modric is a must, he should be united's number 1 midfield target, id rather have him then wesley sneidjer, would be around the same money, modric less on wages i would guess. Worried me yesterday when fergie said gibson was the future.

I am sat in Manchester and it is pouring down with rain and it takes me back twenty years ago today in Rotterdam when we all stood in the rain and showed Barcelona what real support was and how even though they were finals we were Manchester United and it meant nothing to us. It seems like only yesterday and little was i to know what riches we would taste. So much has happened since that people tend to forget this European final and what a night. We shouldn't live in the past and always look to the future. But just for one day i will look back and remember that night when i and all my brothers out there witnessed United taking their seat back at the European table. As we all sang that night. If City were to catch Arsenal and Arsenal were to go out of the CL qualifiers, they would have to sell Cesc & Co just to balance the books.

Sydney!

15 May 2011 16:10:55
Here's one for the cynics. Nasri, Cesc & Clichy all heavily rumoured to be off in the summer. All are not playing today as they are 'Apparently' all injured. Is Wenger just getting used to life without them three?

Ed, with Gill coming out and saying we are very close to sealing the deal for the keeper and SAF saying the same last week. Who do you think it is?

a) Stekelenburg
b) Adler
c) De Gea
d) Neuer

I would be amazed if it wasn't one of these three. I think it's c) personally. I think he has agreed to sign for us, but doesn't want to upset the fans by confirming anything. I think it will be revealed after AM's final two games.

What do you think Ed?

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - I've said De Gea all along, so I'm not changing my mind now}

15 May 2011 14:38:22
In answer to question about who the goalkeeper is that David Gill says you have signed, the talk down here on the south coast is, it's Tommy Forecast of Southampton, at least we're praying it is.
Hope this helps and congrats on another title and a
great season, a Saints fan.

I don't think SAF will let arsenal try and sign benzema for 23m, we tried to sign him for about 30m+ last time so if he is worth 23m i think SAF will try and do what he can to get him. just what i think anyway.

sneijder to man utd, de gea, bale, a. young

I cannot see Utd buying Bale apart from ruptured ankle ligaments to me that has definately lost us / him the chance

Ed or anyone any idea how long this injury usually takes?

Pardoe {Ed001's Note - I believe he has what we would call a sprained ankle hasn't he? If you got to physioroom.com they have a page for reported Premier League injuries (http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/epl_injury_table.php) and in there the injury can usually be clicked on to find out more information about it.}

De Gea coming. He will announce of June 30th and then travel to Manchester and sign on 1st / 2ND July.

Think about it if he was to stay then why wait till June 30th when tranfer window opens next day.

What you all think ?

15 May 2011 10:57:27
Goalkeepers
De Gae-To decide future at the end of June(Source: Skysports)-18M
Stekeenberg-Uniteds Number 1 target-According to Rene Mulensteen-£15M
Neuer-Very Unlikely-Bayern are most likely-£25M
Akinfeev-Not much on him-seems like no one is interested now-£12M
Fernando Muslera-Young Lazio Keeper-Utd could have him as there second choice-£8M
Rui Patricio-Another linked with us-seems good but relatively unknown-£10M

Midfielders
Sneijder-Main Target-High Price but worth it-£35M
Adam-Free Kick Specialist-Great Midfielder-£10M
M'villa-Rennes Midfielder-£15M
M'bia-Marseille Midfielder-£15M
Young-Good Player- however too much like Nani who is playing poorly-Price is a put off-£20M
Hazard-Relatively forgotten winger to come to us- perhaps the most unlikely player to join-Would welcome him-Arsenal Interested-£20M
Sanchez-Citys interest will put us off-They will pay too much for him-If we did get him great addition-£25M
HULK-Would be the best winger/ striker to join-Strong Fast and brutal-£30M

Strikers
Jelavic-Most shocking transfer of the summer-Could turn out to be the best signing we make- May replace Berbatov-£13M
Lukaku-High Price but young age 18-Like Drogba-Worth the money to me-Chelsea Interested-£20M
Rossi-Wants to rejoin according to agent-Like Hernandez-£20M

What do you think Ed?
Please post this it took ages to write!

DM7 {Ed001's Note - I think you have the Young price wrong, no one is going to pay 20m for a player with one year left on his contract. Probably way under on the Sanchez price as well. What about Adler in the keepers?}

15 May 2011 09:19:58
Man Utd will sign a few players this summer and a some of the squad players will leave too:

Players in: K. Schmiechel, J. Rodwell, J. Howson, M. Gradel and L. Becchio (scores more than Berbatov).

Ferguson has finally realised where all the talent is!

With all what i have read so far and it even seems quite likely tht WE are going to sign 3(sure)+1(probability) players(other than phanom raphael varane). .

Goal keeper: de Gea. . He's a done deal. . Price between 18 to 21mil pounds. .

attackin mf: snejider. . . Will be finalised before end of this month. .

Wing forward: its a battle of titans. . i mean between Alexis S"chance"z and ashley young. . . Both have proven themselves at high level football

the probable 4th signing is hanging in balanca as for wht i have heard SAF has offered hargreaves "pay as u play" 1 year extension. .

I will say it again, as I've said before but it was ignored. I congratulate you and your team for the success you've gained over the years as it is no easy feat. I mean it in all honesty. 19 league titles has never been done before except until today. Nobody thought it would have happened in the early 90's but respect where respect is due, you have managed it.

I think because of the out and out hatred that the majority each team, fan and city has for each other adds to the spice of it all. Under all the banter and sniping though is a certain respect for what each team has acheived I'm sure.

We will see what the future holds, but as a Liverpool fan I can say without any hesitation what so ever, that there is a feeling amongst us that there is a real new dawn ahead of us as opposed to the many false ones we have endured over the past two decades.

Long may the rivalry continue as it is a part of supporting our clubs. I will admit that playing UTD is the game I look forward to the most as I'm sure is the case with yourselves, and without the hatred, rivalry, bragging rights and underlying respect, then it would be that bit more mundane.

Either way. I think that just as much respect as I can handle for one season so bring on the next.

Sneidjer is a terrific player but seems to have his eye on RM. Modric works very hard off the ball as well as being very creative with it, and like some other posters here I believe he is a better option. Not sure we'll get either of them though.

De Gea is a massive talent, but I think we should go for someone more experienced.

Whoever we sign should be of the highest quality and desperate to play for us.

Ryan {Ed007's Note - I don't think Sneijder would be interested in a move back to RM}

Toodle pip. It struck me. This sniping at other teams. It doesn't suit me at least not in snide. I guess i want to be part of the fans who naturally see you as foe. And rightly so. Its part of the fun of it. But respect is due. At least for your past. In some you speak truth. Collectively your decorations surpass ours. Not by much. But they do. But today an achievement was made. And its due respect. The man who masterminded it delivered. Is due respect. The players who got us there are due respect as we gave yours on their day. Our club is viewed as the greater of the english clubs. And that is truth. Its an absolute amazing feat. Considering the past greatness of your club. But that's what it is the past. Today is our day. We overcame you. In the eyes of the world its undeniable. Lets see if your club can challenge that. Constantine red

Mumbai. Reply to not working for me. So sorry its late mate. i'd keep evra. I think world cup after year is always funny on a few players. All the leagues in general tend to suffer . He isn't the greatest crosser. His defensive duties. Not as bad as people say but pretty consistent with an attacking wing back. His link up play is good and he fits in the team. Is well liked in the dressing room so i think he will stay. He had a mentally gruelling world cup. I'd agree with syd on a couple of his replacement choices though if needed for him and berba. If replaced izaguirre or baines for me. He would fit in seamlessly. As for berba. Something aint quite right. He is class. Plays more as an ss than a striker which will be rooney's main. I think to be fair to him let him go. Scored good goals. Some important. But also failed to deliver when needed equally. What disappoints me is his attitude when things are not going his way on the pitch. Let him go. Cavani lloris and the jelavic are nice options. What about luis fabiano?. But i'd prefer sanchez. And use wellbeck and diouf more. Sorry its a bit long. . Cons red.

They're not relying on outsiders to do them favours to stop United going past them domestically, because they've gone past.

All that matters now is focusing on lifting themselves up to their rivals' marker, the way Ferguson has done for two decades.

The past belonged to Liverpool, the present to United.

As many pundits denounced Manchester United s pedestrian march to their 19th title, Kopites of a certain age knew better, writes Brian Reade in the Daily Mirror.

"They're just doing enough. .getting the rub of the green. .jammy late goals. .not a patch on some of the previous teams. .going to get found out before the end. ."
Liverpudlians had heard those same words many times in the 1970s and 1980s, before seeing their side put on a sprint at the end which left their rivals dead and left them to focus on another European Cup Final.

The truth is, even though seeing United poised to take their record of English league titles hurts Liverpool fans like hell, they've anticipated it for some time, and were tiring of praying for miracles from Chelsea or Arsenal to help them maintain their historical supremacy.

Many veterans of those Seventies and Eighties campaigns even have a begrudging respect for their detested rivals' achievement.

Because they know what it takes to prove yourself the best in the land year after year: an extraordinary manager in charge of exceptional players who possess an insatiable appetite to win.

That was Liverpool when they took 11 titles in 17 years, and that has been United since Alex Ferguson won the first of his 11 titles (surely about to be 12), 18 years ago.

Yet although Kopites are resigned to United going ahead of them in title wins for the first time in history (they caught up on two, five, six, seven and 18 but have never won more) there is no mass depression suffocating Anfield.

There is no need, as you might have expected, for Samaritans to set up extra helplines on Merseyside.

In fact, it's doubtful there could have been a better time for Liverpool to be knocked off their perch.

Because there is a genuine belief that with decent owners, new players, a blossoming youth set-up, a new or revamped ground and Kenny Dalglish back in charge of playing football the right way, the good times are about to return.

The mauling of Fulham on Monday, or rather the manner of it, and the smiles in evidence all over the pitch, in the dugout and in the away end, suggest a togetherness and confidence not seen at Anfield for years.

The transformation since Dalglish's return has been nothing short of staggering.

No-one is getting carried away. There have been too many false dawns for that. The club is still a way behind United and only the wildest optimist believes it will be 19-19 in a year's time.

The shift is more subtle than that. It's in the psyche.

Suddenly, Liverpool aren't looking back to the old glory days but forward to new ones. Having the weight of history removed from the players' shoulders may just bring those days closer.

United are on the perch now. Time will tell if Liverpool get to knock them off it, but the motivation is now there.

They're not relying on outsiders to do them favours to stop United going past them domestically, because they've gone past.

All that matters now is focusing on lifting themselves up to their rivals' marker, the way Ferguson has done for two decades.

The past belonged to Liverpool, the present to United.

But the future is up for grabs.

We knocked you off your perch years ago. It was not about the amount of titles we achieved or would achieve. Even Ferguson couldn't have anticipated that when made that comments.

It was just about becoming the biggest english football club and that's what we are and there is just no denying in that, even if some delusional scouser don't want to realise it.

What a day for all Manchester United fans! We have waited for this day for years and now it has finally come. Forget about little pests like Blair Witch coming on here, tring to convince themselves that next year is their year! Forget about Manchester City in The FA Cup final, and whether they win it or not! Forget about Toodle Pip and his worthless arguments! We have won our 19th English league title today and nothing can deny us our victory! We are Manchester United and we are CHAMPIONS.

Well done lads, we can now relax and stop taking things out on each other. I think we all now know why Kuszczak will not ever be our number one. It's absolutely crucial that we sign De Gea. De Gea, Lindegaard & Amos will be good enough. Also SAF just said on MUTV that we will see two or three new faces and Cleverley, Welbeck & Diouf 'WILL' return.

No mention of Macheda because he is on his way out. So we can look forward to a minimum of three new players I think. Keeper, midfielder & striker. I can see a defender coming in too.

Even if I was to count the above metioned cups it would not change the outcome of my point, so the theory of "cooking the stats" is one that is laughable. Lets say for instance I do count all the cups I discounted LFC have 59 and MUFC have 55. Obviously it may well be 56 after today but like I said, and will still say until there is a shift in the trophy tally, Liverpool footbal club are still the most successful team in English football history.

Thanks again.

Today, all of us Manchester United fans should get together and belive that today is the day we can make English football history and win that elusive 19th title. Its been a long season with its share of troubles but we've made it this far so lets finish the job in style, sparing us our game next week so we can rest for the Clash of the Titans tm with Barcelona in a fortnight.

Believe.

P.s. Please join me in praying for a Stoke victory :D

In reply to:

"Toodle Pip"

Take away the 4 Division Two tropies, and United's 2 Division Two trophies. Surely you wouln't count them?

With this we are at the moment two behind, and with the League and Champions League, we will get there.

Plus, I didn't have to look this information up, I knew it :).

Read a great article today and thought it was worth a post.

"Sir Alex hangs his head in shame after yet another disappointing season

This season has been one of the most exciting for years , with still a lot to be decided in the league.

However, we have also seen a lot of hypocrisy rear its ugly head (Ok, not as ugly as John Terry, but still ugly)

Firstly, I would like to congratulate Manchester City on gaining that prized Champions League place. You have achieved a lot this season in the best league in the World.

It is an amazing feat that has only taken a net spend of just over 300 million pounds, a whole lot of luck and Spurs going from playing like AC Milan to playing like A.C Slater. You guys can be proud of yourselves and should celebrate (Perhaps a Tattoo along the lines of Champions League Winners 11/ 12′ is in order)

Us United fans have nothing to celebrate though. We have won the league. However, this is the worse Manchester United team for years, the league is the worse for years and we only won because Chelsea went off the boil for 2 months. Any other year and we would not have won. Shame on us for winning the league.

Secondly, well done to Liverpool. You were close to the bottom of the league, then King Kenny came a long and has got you to close to where you were last season. It only took spending close to 55 million pounds on 2 strikers (And that only happened because Chelsea paid over the odds for El Nil-o) You must be happy at the progress you have made.

Arsenal on the other hand have nothing to be proud of. Challenging for the league all season, a cup final and still a chance of second. What a disaster. Sack Wenger, sell Fabregas, and sacrifice Robin Van Persie to the God of football. I bet all Arsenal fans wish they supported Liverpool.

Thirdly, congrats to Gareth Bale. Half a good season, a few goals and a couple of assists. What a world beater. In fact, have an award. Oh, you got one? Player of The Season? Wow.

Nani on the other hand, you should be ashamed. You were only consistently good for three quarters of the season, chipping in with goals and assists. Your form only dropped after a horror tackle from Jamie Dog-Face Assassin Carragher. You should take you Premier League medal, give up football and take up crochet.

Fourthly, shame on you Stoke for using your Rugby tactics. You guys are so rough, why can t you play nicely like the boys at Arsenal?

What? Arsenal are second bottom of the Fair Play league? Erm, sorry, I didn t see it.

Fifthly, I can t believe you Wolves fans. How dare you steal The Poznan . The Manchester City fans have been using that for years, they invented it. In-fact, I think they have patented it. They have every right to be annoyed.

Who? Lech Poznan? City stole it from them only a few months back? I m sorry, I don t believe it.

Sixthly, well done Karren Brady. Nice spot you have got yourself there on The Apprentice. The contestants are really lucky to have the chance to listen to your financial/ business expertise. It s priceless.

But West Ham are in a Financial state. Their wages to turnover rate is unsustainable. The Chairmen couldn t run a bath. Karren . You re Fired!

And Finally. Manchester United are a team in decline. We have no money, no star player and City are there to knock us off our perch.

We will have to console ourselves with a record 19th league title and the chance of another European Cup.

*Disclaimer If United fall apart and lose the last 2 games, lose the league and get hammered in the Champions League then a few of the points are not relevant, and I will become a Nun."

@@ all bantering with "weasel tit" the stats read of all first team honours ( irrelevant of whether someone thinks it major or not) Liverpool 59 Manchester United 58.

So after today it will be equal then we will have 2 chances to overtake them before the season starts. So after the game today his arguement is nulified.

Good luck today boys let's go there and win and let city cry about us spoiling their day in the limelight.

After I posted a comment yesterday, I found out one amazing fact if not anything else. MUFC fans (or some at least) do not count the Carling cup as a major honour, and put it in the same catagory as the community sheild.

By that rational, they wouldn't have been bragging when MUFC have completed the domestic treble in past seasons because the Carling cup is a trophy isn't worth mentioning.

I was accused of cooking the stats in order to shift the point I was making in my favour, when infact I was counting just the trophies that are widely regarded by the majority of managers, players, media and fans alike, as the major trophies up for grabs.

I did not count community sheilds, super cup, cup winners cup and any other cheap budjet cup like the world club cup. The reasoning for this is because they are just one game format, two bob cups that not many people hold in high regard.

Even if I was to count the above metioned cups it would not change the outcome of my point, so the theory of "cooking the stats" is one that is laughable. Lets say for instance I do count all the cups I discounted LFC have 59 and MUFC have 55. Obviously it may well be 56 after today but like I said, and will still say until there is a shift in the trophy tally, Liverpool footbal club are still the most successful team in English football history.

. .homies, Rodwell to United is far from being a done deal. .Moyes wants to use him to get Adebayor which is likely to happen. so watch out for Rodwell to the noisy neighbours. adebayor+some cash. .
United that's why might, just might, turn their attention to Defour.
And i am saying again that Sanchez is ours. u can bet your 'wife' on that.

WAR HAS JUST BEEN DECLARED ON THE LIVERPOOL NATION!

Definition of War: A state of open, usually armed, and prolonged conflict between two parties, nations or states over a controlling interest. This Saturday, Manchester United take on Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. With a win or a draw, United will claim their 12th Premier League title and their 19th overall English First Division title. That same result would leap frog Liverpool's long held record, surpassing our mark of 18 First Division titles. Make no mistake my friends, WAR has been declared.

When two parties engage in War, they fight for a controlling interest. In this case, that interest is the Premier League title and the record overall lead in First Division football. In the military structure there are levels of command and responsibility. Each role has duties to carry out and someone above them to answer to. Thankfully we were able to remove the old regime and bring in the new Commander in Chief FSG, headed by Mr. John Henry. Below him is his advisory cabinet members Damien Comolli and Ian Ayre respectively. Now with our recently signed "General" Kenny Dalglish, I believe we have the correct command to wage this war successfully.

Whether a war is won or lost I believe its because of its leadership and tactics, not because of the troops on the ground. It is my belief we are now properly equipped with the staff and finance needed to finally fight back against United's machine of dominance. They laid their claim over the last twenty years but with our new leadership, the winds of change are blowing. The greatest thing about our recent upgrades in my opinion is FSG. With Mr. Henry being the passionate man he is, he answered to us. . listening to our calls, educating himself to our club's history and standards of excellence. What's more, instead of waiting until the proverbial "Next Year", Mr. Henry and his team went to work almost immediately bringing in major changes during January. A loud and powerful signal to the LFC faithful that good things were on the way. Signing Steve Clarke for three years was brilliant as well. Full credit for his tireless work with the first team. His work is on display each time we take the field. Each time I think about the upcoming summer, I want to stand up and shout with aggression. The pride and strength has been restored in all facets of LFC, including its supporters. Prior to January, I'd watch the games with caution and fear. Today I find myself clenching every muscle in my body with powerful pride as I expect my team to destroy who's in front of them. I stand in front of my television in full kit, ferocious and ready for battle. I have FSG, Dalglish, and Luis Suarez to thank for restoring that for me.

We must remember that as fans we have our role as well. It is our job to support the team no matter the result. It is our job to sing, cheer, and shout as loud as we can to show the world: We are together in this journey. We are LFC. And GOD DAMN IT, we're coming to take back what is ours! !

To the next twenty years!

Blair Mayne YNWA

This reminds me of the time when Comical Ali was declaring that the invading forces were being slaughtered by Saddam's mighty forces as American tanks clearly rolled into Baghdad in the background.

Here's to another twenty years in which the next will always be our year , another twenty years of if only (insert relevant excuse) we would have been challenging, and above all here's to another twenty years of scouse bitterness, resentment and jealousy.

Danny Pughnited
