Hopefully the clown stays there.

What makes him a clown, Spence? Contributed massively to a few of the trophies we have won in the last 10 years, too.

Behave, mate. He threw away his football career, and you know it.

Nope, he went through well-documented off-the-field family issues. He did well, came through the academy, played around 150 games for us, scored some massive goals, and was a key player in some of the rare trophies we've won since 2013. If that's throwing away your career, then so be it.

Yep, Pspence, I think you've gotten that one badly wrong. Jesse had a few really good years here. And his decision in going to Seoul meant a huge pay drop. He embraced the culture there and is a fan favourite despite a rocky start there.

Lingard gave us some good times. He's a character, but he's done well, and come through some tough times. He's one of our own, a Northwest lad who played for United.

He's playing in Brazil, apparently for a very low wage. He's experiencing the world, and fair play to him. Wish him the best.

Lingard's a very promising young player.

He was more interested in off field antics than football. Having issues doesn't excuse him; we all have issues, but that doesn't mean we stop turning up to work.

Wasn't he a catalyst in dragging a few players down to his off-field issues?

PSpence, he didn't stop turning up for work. I think he had a fine career. Sure, some of his antics are questionable and not for everyone. It's usually a generational thing.

Arguments can be made that he didn't fulfill the potential he had and he made some errors along the way, but being an academy graduate, trophies, England caps, travelling, and playing in different parts of the world.

When all is said and done, he should look back fondly.

Every single player on here would love to have had the career Lingard did and experience what he has done.
He will have regrets, but who doesn't? Even Frank Sinatra had a few.
But he seems happy, so who are we to judge. He may have achieved most of his life goals, and not everybody can say that.
Not everybody is the same.

Maybe he got what he wanted or his career was more important to him than what you think he should have got out of it.

He never seemed to put football ahead of everything, but most people don't put their career before everything, only the really special, dedicated ones do, and they are few and far between.
