Some delightful words from avram glazer floating about the media sphere today. To say I hate and despise this family would be the understatement of the decade. Their attitude to the club, fans and everyone who loves this great institution is why we are where we are.

The thing is the status of EPL football teams is not protected by a franchise system. The NFL is a revenue sharing collective, so the minimum a franchise can bring in is $450m without selling a ticket, a hot dog or winning a game. It's basically guaranteed income which underpins the economic value of the franchise, which in the Bics case Is more than United.
If United were relegated and then condemned to lower division football for an extended period, there's no way the value of the club could be maintained, and it's unlikely they could generate enough income to service the debt.
Woodward used to come up with the same garbage, probably reiterating his masters voice. I get it: relegation could be a long term disaster, and it might not get rid of the Glazers anyway. But it's really difficult year after year to spend som micuch time and energy hating the owners of our club.

Alternatively, he might just be saying these things to attract investors and protect his asset for a sale. Might have been a sales pitch saying you'll basically make cash even when we're crap on the pitch.

We all view things from the standpoint of supporters and people who love the club and football in general.
The Glazers view their ownership as a well excuted once in a lifetime business acquisition. Why do fans expect them to love the club like they do? It's irrational and unrealistic. For the Glazers it's simply a business transaction.
Do I hate what they have done to the fabric of the club because they lack a love of football and /or the club.. absolutely yes. but I don't hate them
The people responsible for this are the football authorities who allowed the oligarchs and Nation States to plunder our national game for their monetary gain and /or prestige.
Secondly I blame also the management team running the club who have made such bad recruitment decisions of managers and playing staff and laid off hard working longstanding members of staff in the name of making economies. I actually dislike them much more than the Glazers. They are supposed to be football people.

With apparently a 120, 000 long waiting list you can see why Glazer isn't concerned at all about selling seats, and also why they're remaining committed to the new stadium. For them that's where the money is. Most football clubs don't make any or much money. They don't care about the football.

I seem to recall that Gill said something along the same lines many years ago.
