Some decent midfielders there who could be obtained for considerably less (even free in YT's case) than the mega-expensive Enzo. Wonder what MAcAllister's valuation would be. Can see lots of interest in all those mids, a few top sides in the Prem are looking at their midfields.

Enzo Fernandez for me is the one to sign if possible. I think he will be in the same category as Bellingham, Tchouameni etc as one of the best midfielders in the world over the next decade.

Yes he would be expensive, but how often do you get to sign a player who could be generational talent, whose style suits the club and the manager and who could be the main guy for the next decade in midfield.

I wonder if we will make another attempt at De Jong?

Doubt well get any of them midfielders mentioned jist picked up off other teams pages from ed002 that they were all of interest in the past 6 months tielemans be a decent option to have for a reasonable price but doubt he'd want to warm our bench and i don't think he's good enough to be a starter. Fernandez is a pipe dream were not in a positon at the minute to make sig ings of that magnitude and i honestly don't think he's worth the money a good player yes but like macallister its world cup fever and them deals never seem to work out.

I think MacAllister has been going under the radar quite nicely with Brighton, he’s a great player who has played consistently well all season. Not saying I think we need him or any of these players - still reckon De Jong is the target personally - but a few will be on the move to greater things.

No one ever mentioned enzo fernandez before the world cup. He would be a massive waste of 100+ million imo.

Danny that's because no one will have watched him play many of the 14 games he played for Benfica and certainly not the 40 odd games he played back in Argentina.

He did look very promising in the 2 to 5 games people may have watched of him in the world Cup.

Personally I think the lad is best off staying for a year or 2 in Benfica before moving to a big club to develop further. I certainly don't think A January move will suit him better to move in the summer get a pre season and friendlies to embed/ settle. I often think January is a time when it's best to go for older more experienced player who can adjust quicker.

I agree with Spenno in that MacAllister always looks good for Brighton but then so does Caciedo. Good side and a very well run club.

Potter looked good with Brighton, his body language reminds me of Solskjaer.

I said the exact same thing im7
I do think Potter is a very good coach though unlike ogs.
I think it was a huge leap from Brighton to Chelsea.
I don't buy into this chose squad is poor.
Couple of cup finals I think lady season 3rd in league I think won cl season before with the bones of it.
Given time he may well turn it around but if he loses a couple more they may well lose their bottle and sack him before the cl kicks in. I think top4 is beyond them so I hope they hold their nerve and trust in the man they selected only a couple of months ago.
I'd like to see him do well.
English managers are not successful I can't put my finger on exactly why that is.
Ability to be able to communicate with and inspire players from all cultures and countries seems to me to be the problem as the demise of English born managers came with at the same time as a major influx of non English players.
