If Harry Maguire perceives scoring a goal against Albania at Wembley as redemption or somehow silencing his critics we have serious mentality problems at Man Utd.

Embarrassed against Leicester, Humiliated by Liverpool and humbled by City a Man Utd captain reacts like that to scoring a goal for England.

I know it probably seems insignificant to many but that kind of reaction worries me and is a big indication of how far standards have slipped at Man Utd. This is a player without a recognisable trophy to his name and no real pedigree of performing at the highest level yet he perceives scoring against Albania as some kind of two fingered salute to his critics. Make no mistake this has been a chastising few weeks for Man Utd. We've been obliterated by the enemy in our own back yard and rather than looking in the mirror and taking responsibility for some horrific performances it would appear some of our players have been feeling sorry for themselves and don't like what's been reported about them.

Is Ole going to do the same if we beat Watford?! I don't want to see fist pumping and training ground smiles. These players should be absolutely embarrassed and ashamed by recent weeks. Get off the pitch at the end and win some bloody games. Boycott social media and do the business on the pitch. Be humble, uphold the traditions of this great Club, accept the responsibility and honour of playing for one of the biggest football Clubs in the world and f. win or die trying. I'm sick of the apologies and self pity! The standards of this Club are in the mud! Rant over!

I find it a little odd. No one was lambasting Maguire for not scoring enough. He was being criticised for terrible defending and a lack of leadership.

Nodding in a simple header does not prove him as a defender or prove his critics wrong.

Maguire is a liability in defence.
He has set us back and should pack his bag along with Ole.
World record fee for a below average defender is terrible decision making.

Maguire was pretty awful at the start of last season after the Mykonos debacle. He seems a confidence player, trusting his convictions and being proactive, defending on the front foot. I feel the emotional hangover from the Euros is affecting him and he's carried that into this season.

Hopefully a good international week and he'll come back in a better headspace.

The only way you silence your critics is by holding aloft the premier league or champions league trophy at the end of the season not by scoring a goal against Albania in an England shirt.

Many Utd supporters became disillusioned with England a long while ago! Probably about the time rival supporters were hanging effigies of David Beckham from lampposts! He won the treble the following season!

Harry Maguire needs a lesson in the history and standards of our Club.
