English media today running with the need for a top striker prioritized by the club. Isak, Kane, Haaland, Lautaro, and Schick mentioned. I’m not sure any of those are possible or correct for us. I think like Ed said just the other day on here, likely to change a lot based on manager. I’d bet we sign none of them.

Victor Osimhen is playing at a really high level this season and seems to have a good all round game physically and technically.

That said if Poch does come in then can see us making a big push for kane who would be an ideal fit with Rashford, Bruno and Sancho.

I don't rate Kane. He is nearly 29 and would only be a short term solution. I'd focus on someone younger. I'm yet to be convinced by Kane against top teams.

{Ed014's Note - the fact he’s a cheating diving prick doesn’t help his cause, watched him a few times this season and he looks like Anthony Martial 0.2 as disinterested lazy waster, although I’m sure the waster I’m thinking of has an N and a K in it.

Kane has turned into one of the biggest whingers and moaners on the pitch. Always pleading with the ref and berating officials.
He should fit in well at United.

Rangnick said we need to get a younger striker in, so won’t be Kane.

Lucky enough it won’t be Ralfs choice whatsoever.

Nkunku is making a good name for himself at Leipzig. Scored a great free kick yesterday. Can see United looking at him. 24 years old, athletic and can score most importantly.

ED014,

I've always thought he was overhyped. Yes, he scores goals in the EPL, but he can't do it against the top teams. I thought he was abysmal in the Euros.

I can't see many clubs paying a huge fee for him, given that he turns 29 in the summer. There again, Utd are stupid enough to do just that.

I'd avoid Kane like the plague, he struggles with injuries, and at 29 and what would be on mega wages I think we will just be stuck with an expensive crock.

Like Ralf has said we need a top class YOUNG forward to build around for the next 4-5 years.

Kane is still too young for us. We’ll try and sign him when he’s 37.

Unsurprisingly a small comment by RR that the club will need a new striker and the press have a field day, assuming Ronaldo is on his way out. I wouldn't actually be too surprised if CR7 did leave after only a season if Utd don't make CL - who knows what is written in contracts if he wants to end on a high. But more importantly factor in the exits of Martial (hopefully permanent) and Cavani, to a lesser extent the likely exits of Lingard and VDB, then of course the Greenwood issue, and of course Utd will need to bring someone in.

I agree the Kane ship has sailed - that should have been this year if it was going to happen. Bit surprised favour in him seems to have dropped to the extent of him not being rated by many. I'm pretty sure practically any manager would take him in terms of quality. Agreed however there are longevity / injury concerns, and as we need 3-4 players capable of starting can't be forking out £150m or whatever it would take. I'd prefer a lower-key signing personally like Adeyemi. Look at what Jota is doing for Liverpool, plenty of eyebrows were raised with that one but he fits them like a glove which is more important.
