I like Cavani, he'll provide different options for the squad across the front. Rashford and Greenwood can all play on the right. Why not for a season or two. Sancho is an excellent player but I'd much prefer to see a decent centre back brought in with some of the money that would of been spent on him.

Separate issue here, but does anybody think Wan Bissaka could possibly play in the centre back position? I'm not saying he should or shouldn't, I'm just wondering what other, more knowledgeable posters think.

Have a great weekend everyone, fingers crossed for three points today.

Come on, it's Southampton. Really annoying team who consistently make niggling little foul after foul.
First red was for a horrendous "tackle".
I'm not a particularly bitter person but 1976 Cup Final? Bobby Stokes?
I'm made up it was 9 - 0.

Good post. I totally agree: progress is being made. Things do need freshening up, Bruno and Rashford definitely need a break. I'm really hoping Diallo can make a few appearances and shake it up a bit and make an impact. I suppose the FA cup tie is an opportunity for a few changes.
I'm a bit disappointed about Sunday's match though. Ole could of been a bit bolder in his team selection and tactics because Liverpool where there for the taking in my opinion.

Our recent record against Liverpool is pretty dire, so I'm hoping everyone turns up and turns it on today. Play to win, just not to lose.

A real character and an underrated coach I reckon. Macari, Coppell, Hill, Pearson. A great team to watch. The Sexton years were awful. I also remember them. Unfortunately.
Jim McClean passed away last week as well, another great Scottish coach.

Agree with the Mctominay comments. He has a real drive about how he plays and really shows his mettle. Physically and mentally very strong. Mr. Mourinho stated he was our best midfielder and I think he has the potential to be a future captain.
I think Rashford is a great player and an amazing human being. He has real empathy and humility and I just think he is brilliant. But I don't think being captain would quite fit him because of those qualities. I'm a bit old fashioned as well and I prefer a captain to be a midfielder or centre back.
Maguire puzzles me. I think there's a good player there somewhere but he strikes me as being introverted and a worrier. There's an air of panic about how he plays. I don't know whether it's a concentration thing or how he prepares himself or how he manages stress. He's not captain material in my opinion.
