I know it's usually not allowed to be positive on here, but looking at our squad and the 'possible' incomings I'm looking forward to the new season, especially if ETH can get the rest of the squad playing to at least 90% of their ability.

Yes we could do with a right back, and another CB, but if Martinez and someone like FDJ come in to add to Eriksen and Malacia, I'm excited by where the team and squad are going. With the chance to give the younger lads some time too, it could be a much happier season.

No we won't challenge City and Liverpool, but this season that is fine, we have just finished 6th and we were sh*t. Top four, good football and some direction with the playing staff and club I will take all day long if we can do it.

Midfield and forward options of maybe FDJ, Fred, McTom, Eriksen, Elanga, Sancho, Rashford, Martial and either Ronaldo or someone like Antony looks good for the new season, plus a few extra slots taken by some of the younger lads who look really promising.

It will be interesting to see how the season starts and if we can get some confidence and momentum in the early days ??????.

Brendan, I'd include Zidane in there too, what a talent and showing maturity beyond his years already.

Maybe he's not ready, but from what I've seen, he could be, very quickly.

Agreed Brendan. Super excited to trundle down to my local to watch the first game and wondering what the team will look like. Dunno who we’ll end up with out of Martinez / de Jong / Dumfries etc and curious what striker target we’ll move for if Antony doesn’t come off. I’d like to see more of a young targetman come in like Kalajdzic, this time next season CR7 will be gone so a young central player would be good.

I know its only pre season but I've been impressed with what I've seen from both zidane and savage. They have been 2 of the standout players and seem to link up well.

No fear to play they don’t shy away it’s a joy to watch.

Yes it’s definitely a time to be more positive, especially with the youngsters getting a chance. Still need to temper expectations though as its only pre season and we have been here before.

PLUS……. We still have Maguire!

I could run quicker through thick custard with condoms on my feet!
