I can see us having to hold on to Martial next year with ETH hoping he'll have a less injury prone season and perhaps, used sparingly, provide decent back up for whoever comes in.

Martial isn’t a good enough back up to a back ups back up! Also it isn’t only him being prone to ‘injury’ that’s an issue. He doesn’t have the minerals to play through a ‘niggle’ and has no fight in him so finds it easy to sustain an ‘injury’.
Even when he deems himself fit he’s a waste of space. He’s stealing a living.
Other opinions are available.

Surely not Shaw, he was pants whenever he got a chance. I'm amazed he has been with us as long as he has. He had some good spells but once we signed Sanchez, he has been consistently poor. I would rather give a youngster a chance, Martial has been dreadful.

I'd rather see Stevie Wonder play up front for Utd.

I didn't suggest it was in any way a good thing, just something dictated by the situation. He's injury blighted and/ or mentally weak. Who's going to buy him and pay him £13m+? None of the teams that could afford him will see him as an improvement. So we will almost certainly be forced to keep him for the final year of his contract, hope that he stays fit and produces some of the form he showed in the season he scored 20+ goals. Someone will then pick him for free in 2024 at which point he will be forced to accept a pay reduction.

With luck we'll buy one decent CF and then with Garnacho, Sancho, Rashford, Antony and Martial, plus one or two hopefuls, that will probably be it. Our other forward, the controversial Mason Greenwood, is most likely going to have to be loaned out. If we're going to cut existing salaries it's more likely to be as a result of selling Fred, McTominay, Williams, Bailly, Telles, Henderson, Donny and, possibly Maguire.

Martial will be fine if he stays fit. problem is that's a massive if.

It's 1 more year.

Next year I assume we will have new owners and a lot of older players from previous eras gone.
If nobody wants him on loan, and he cannot be sold.
I'd rather pay his wages and keep him 3rd choice than pay majority of his wages while terminating his contract.

Apart from being very injury prone and being gives mad wages by a certain woodward I don't think he's said anything negative about the club nor have I heard a lot of attitude issues.

ETH has already cleared a lot of mess and I am just patient. He's better than Sancho as a CF surely who played the last pre season match.
