Any truth in the Mbappe to United rumours Ed? Rumours suggest he could make his way in January.

Yes, Manchester United having spent all their money in the summer have put together a creative offer which PSG are intending to snatch our hand off for.
The deal will be Jones, a packet of Quavers and a half sucked Polo mint for Mbappe with PSG paying 50% of his wages for the first 2 years of the deal.

TOHOM, it's also a banter site, I doubt any of the replies are malicious and are intended as a good natured ribbing. Mine certainly was.
Logically it would take something incredible for Manchester United to get involved in a move for Mbappe.
Firstly, we spent over 200m in the summer and made a loss for the financial year. Ergo we haven't got tonnes of spare cash kicking about currently.
Mbappe would cost a bare minimum of 150m, but more likely somewhere between 200-300m is more likely and is the figure being kicked around in the media.
Simply put unless either we get new investment or are taken over we will not have that sort of money to spend, especially on a single player.
Given the time large scale investment/ takeovers for a club/ business our size typically take its unlikely that even if it were to happen that the ducks would all be lined up and in place ahead of the January transfer window.
Secondly, even if we had the financial muscle ready and in place to make such a bid, the reality is that I'd be very surprised if Mbappe would be prepared to move to our club in the current climate.
As a final note, while he is a supremely talented player, arguably one of the best in the world. I do have concerns over his attitude/ mentality. It seems the only thing bigger than the transfer fee/ wages that Mbappe would command is his ego.
He signed the biggest deal in the world less than 6 months ago, if the rumours have any truth to them then that included him having certain "privileges" that his teammates do not enjoy.
Yet 6 months later the relationship has apparently broken down to a point where he has to leave. Although maybe the cynic in me just feels that Mbappe is throwing his toys out the pram because Messi and Neymar are outperforming him this season. I don't think his ego can take it.
If any of this is true that makes him an expensive gamble as his attitude could be his downfall and stop him becoming the player his talent suggests he can be. It's not like we haven't seen that before, signing a hugely talented Frenchman for a massive fee and on large wages for them to become the face of the club only for them to never match their talent with performances equal to it. All while they potentially cause disruption behind the scenes.
Real talk here, United aren't in the position to sign a player like Mbappe, he is the cherry on top of a fantastic cake. While we're still preparing the cake mix and haven't even started to bake yet.
We need a well rounded striker, capable of leading the line, the press and linking up play.
We need a keeper who will allow us to play as EtH would like.
Beyond that we need strength in depth at RB, CB and CM (someone who can progress the ball from deep to rotate with Eriksen) .

To be honest, I am not sure Mbappe works as part of a team and wouldn't want him. He is brilliant on Fifa or FM. He is fantastic on You Tube highlights, over 90 mins twice a week, month in month out, he goes missing a lot and doesn't put the work in you would want.
