Hi Ed002

Do you know if Dortmund are looking to make Sancho's loan move permanent this summer?

Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Not at the asking price.}

He might need to go out on loan again, or the club might have to take a big hit when selling him.

He's on massive wages, been poor for three years now and has displayed an appalling attitude.

He's now gone back to Dortmund and not pulled up any trees. Why would anyone be mad enough to pay a large fee and big wages to take a chance on him?

Is there a possibility he returns to MU if there is a new manager?

{Ed002's Note - He needs a new start. He wants out.}

Are we looking at any Dortmund player that we could maybe do some horse trading?

{Ed002's Note - They have already offered up Donyell Malen to MU (and others).}

Really not good enough for where Utd need to be. Take the hit, move him on, let him get on with his life.

Thankfully ed, what a terrible terrible buy that was.

Angel, there was a really interesting bit in the Ole video where he says that everyone was onboard with the Sancho signing, but then talks about how Sancho doesn’t have a lot of pace and plays best with intricate linkup play in the final third.

It’s weird because the whole United team was geared around fast breaks at this time. There weren’t really any players in the squad that excelled at this type of game. So why did they all want to sign a player that didn’t fit with the squad or the tactical approach?

The warning signs were there.
It's in red print all over the archives. So if the eds knew about his attitude, time keeping and discipline issues and pep knew and Southgate knew how on earth all the red flags were ignored is beyond me.
On top of that he as you say Danny had very few of the attributes the team style required.
But with gormless ole not knowing what he wanted and why what chance did we have.
It's been a poor signing not the 1st or last.
Nowadays mistakes of this magnitude are felt for years unfortunately due to the finances.
His book value will be hard to achieve on a sale and on top of that cash impact will be a tough one to take.
I hope the new team will minimise these bad signings going forward and also maximise what they can from some of hannibal vdb sancho mctom maguire Shaw casimero bruno awb rashford lindelof ericksen Antony pellistri amad etc.
Varane Evans Heaton and martial are all out for free and while that's good on the wages front there will be no sale income.
Very interesting summer ahead.

We've been making the same mistake year after year, even when SAF was in charge. Remember how we had to have Owen Hargreaves? He hardly ever played. Weren't we after Sancho the year before he joined? But instead of being thankful for missing out, the club just went ahead and compounded the misjudgment. The Bundesliga is a different place, and Dortmund's style is not ours. The highly rated Kagawa was also one who did not thrive in the EPL. We've had at least a decade of buying players because they're available at a very high price and without any long term plan as to how to use them.

ED002,

Do you think Utd would be open to a player swap deal with Dortmund for Sancho?

{Ed002's Note - It may depend on the coach.}

The fear for me is that we will over price Sancho for Dortmund to be able to take him permamently especially with his wages. I am not sure he will be interested in a move to Saudi and I am not sure there is huge interest in him elsewhere (This may change over the end of the season) .

We will be left with a player we want to sell, no buyers at the price we want and have to loan him back to Dortmund. Will not help with getting money in for the summer window.

Not sure who at Dortmund we would be interested in if a swap deal is considered.
