I don't where to start, but one thing was very clear yesterday, Newcastle wanted to win, we just participated. Trying to play from back again, which these players can't do, to eventually just kicking it long and losing possession. No excuses Newcastle have injuries too, played midweek, but they out fought us at ever ball. There's serious attitude issues there, Rashford, varane etc and there's players just not good enough. I really had high expectations this season but that has truly turned to anger and frustration watching us now.

I totally agree and beginning to question recent transfer selections coupled with tactics and coaching going forward . All we hear is we are in a process but Aston Villa, Spurs and Brighton have had less time with new managers and spent less money!

I have tried a number of times to reply to your post but keep ending up falling into the trap of a long winded whinge.

Basically I agree 100%! What was frustration is now becoming real anger.

That’s all I have. I really don’t know what more to say that would not be construed as negative towards the team and ETH. Finding anything positive is fast becoming hard.

99% of the players need to go. But that can’t and won’t happen. It’s clear and obvious the players aren’t playing for the manager.

We all know where this will end up. ETH will be gone in a matter of weeks with an interim manager coming in, season written off and start all over again.

Unfortunately this bunch of good for nothing players will do this all over again to the next manager.

Rashford, Martial, McTominay, Dalot, Antony, Amrabat, Casemiro, Varane etc should all be sent to spend some time with Sancho away from the club.

Stop buying players who just want £250k a week. Find young and hungry players that will put a shift in and potentially grow into top players. At least that way they won’t be on top money and can potentially be moved on if not successful. At the moment we pay a fortune for players that nobody else would dream of taking on their wages.

The whole structure needs to change. But that’s not a quick process. And I don’t think ETH will be around to see it. But the lazy players that killed him off unfortunately will be. They will stay putting a little bit of effort in for a new manager until such time as he dares to drop them or say one wrong word to them, and then we can start this circus all over again.

4.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 09:43:45
Where do we go though? Who would want to become part of this circus?

All the off field noise, the lazy, toxic players?

I think we should drop these idiots and bring in the lads that want to run, press, TRY.

I don't see another manager being able to polish this turd any better that the current one.

5.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 09:53:34
Yeh blame everything but the culprits

The useless spineless players

Rashford and Martial 2 of the laziest players I think we have ever had

The pair of them make my blood boil

They could both wear the same kit all season as it wouldn’t be dirty or smelling from any sweat

They should both hold their heads in shame but they couldn’t give 2 hoots.

I question why ETH keeps selecting Rashford and Martial when it is clear they don’t try and don’t hide it. Varane may be brittle yet he prefers Maguire and Shaw at CB. We pushed to get Amrabat and look at that, Antony at £85m and let’s not open the Onana debate again. Our tactics are non existent, our team play disjointed, the substitutions nonsensical and we rarely trouble goalkeepers.
There are more and more questions about the managers decisions. There is no discernible pattern or consistency and Ten Haag is nearing the point of no return. This is Manchester United avowed to play the Busby way, it is an honour to pull on the shirt, yet the manager allows players to besmirch it. Clock is ticking and I think ETH is actually on his last legs, has to display some guts and drop those who are not trying.

7.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 10:14:05
Blackpool Red, yes but who keeps selecting them? Protects them. It looks like the manager is blind to it, it cannot carry on much longer. He stamps his authority on Sancho and then is pathetic with Rashford and Martial.

8.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 10:51:38
So far we have been adept at beating lower half teams in close games and then getting beat as soon as the level of opponent gets a bit better.
I always thought a skilled player was better than a hard worker but that was based on an assumption of a small difference in effort and not chalk and cheese.
Theres lots of things not right, playing out from the back with players who look wooden and uncomfortable doing it when pressed, a lack of ability in midfield and attackers who don't score or don't want to work hard when the opponents level is higher.
When you add in woeful transfer activity it duznt help matters . Was there even an outfield player starting bought in the last four windows even starting yesterday.
We can pin it on injuries if we want but newcastle have a load of them aswell .

Surely Rashford is dropped for the next game. He’s been dreadful all season and I’m so pleased to see pundits calling him out at last. That effort, or lack thereof, is unforgivable. He should be utterly ashamed of himself. But knowing his character he won’t give a crap because he now lives totally in his own head. He’s a disgrace and I’d love to see Roy Keane or Bryan Robson get a grip of him after watching that pitiful performance last night.

10.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 11:05:15
I think the clock is ticking on the manager, coaching staff, execs and many of the players especially senior ones.

11.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 11:20:09
Martial and rashford are no where near the level. How is martial still at united. 8 years or so. 8 months would have been too much.
Newcastle had injuries. we can't blame that. Their are ne excuses left for these players anymore.

12.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 11:33:12
Attitude was the big difference yesterday. Rashford was horrendous. If we got a good bid for him I'd have thought we can replace him with much better. He has one good season in 3 and his attitude is getting worse if anything. Martial is lazy. We were playing with 9 yesterday against a team with a huge workrate. I'd hoped to see Amrabat and Mainoo start as McT isn't up to it, and Reguilon will surely replace Dalot in the next game. All wasn't bad but dropping Rashford has to happen now.

I don’t know what any manager can do. I think new managers come into the club and see that there is a problem with the overarching culture in the dressing room, lack of effort, leadership, character. They think oh crap this is bad and try to quickly bring in players they have previously worked with or can trust to put in the effort or set a better example. This is a terrible transfer policy as you’re buying dressing room allies, rather than the best possible players.

When first hired the managers seem to be in their strongest position of power. This is when the usual suspects start upping their effort levels to save their salaries and we play semi-decent football. The manager thinks that the culture may be changing and that the squad might be able to compete. Slowly the players start to relax because they’ve survived the immediate threat. As soon as we win a trophy this year, the players started to switch off. It’s clear that the players thought they’d done enough and could take the rest of the season off.

Add in the uncertainty surrounding the sale of the club and the manager’s authority was diminished by the summer. There seemed to be a more clear style of football last season, more pressing and attempts to dictate play. This season it has completely reverted to the players’ preferred style of play: sit deep, cover minimal ground and try to attack on the break.

I don’t think ETH is a bad manager. In a well run club, he’d probably do well. But he won’t do anything with this squad. He’ll be fired and we can only cross our fingers that the club structure will be changed to bring in experienced people running the football side that identify the right manager and players to bring in, and more importantly, be smart enough to gut the squad of the players responsible for the culture of mediocrity in the dressing room.

The real solution is to bring people at the very top that will make hard decisions about stars. Without someone who has unquestioned total control and freedom to make these decisions we get what we have seen here for a decade. Managers putting sticking plasters over issues without the power or freedom to do what's needed.

15.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 13:23:09
We need to stick with the management and let him rid the club of these players we’re calling out!

However picking a team that includes martial at Newcastle is asking for trouble! What was he thinking!

16.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 14:17:28
Read all above and we all feel the same. just deflated by these good for nothing players that don't try. Rather have no money, ran on a shoe string but have 11 players that really try but aren't as good. if they lose its because the other team were just better. The supporters are getting so badly short changed its incredible. sadly I think ten hag be gone after another heavy defeat at Liverpool. Would love if a man came in and dropped most of them and played the under 23s instead.

17.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 15:47:22
He won’t even drop the players who are putting no effort in, Chris. What makes you think he’d want to sell them. As far as he’s concerned they’re playing well and we’re just unlucky. That’s all I ever hear him say these days.

18.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 17:47:58
WOW! People saying their emotions are now anger? Turn down the outrage dial folks!

It is only a game, remember that. If your emotions are getting the better of you, perhaps don't watch over Xmas. We all know people have a few beers during this time and typically families are together for prolonged periods of time.

We could have the next DV case amongst us the way you lot are going on.

I said in my last response to a previous post, nothing was expected from utd this year, that hasn't changed. It is a transition.
What I find funny is people advocated for the viewing to be more accustomed to the utd way, now we have a manager who is capable of getting the team to play that way, BUT the players, as a collective, are not there yet. I say persist with it, as it highlights to ETH who cannot play his system, and ultimately who has to leave.

Let the process play out, next season will be a lot different, unless of course we sack the manager, which would be the dumbest thing to happen, since the dawn of day.

19.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 19:16:29
Regardless of the “transition” you speak of…….

Effort is a given. ESPECIALLY ON 250K A WEEK PLUS!
Attitude is a given.
Pride is a given.

I would happily accept being pumped every week if the team showed some desire and effort. ETH is advocating this rubbish by picking players who do not care week in week out.

As someone has said. Put the kids in there. Tell them a United shirt is up for grabs and watch them play!

Don’t hold your breath. As much as I would like to see him succeed and prove us all wrong, ETH is an ex manager walking.

As for the DV. C’mon man! We are angry at the team performances and effort not life, sheesh. It’s a banter page!

This season is hugely effected by our CB and defensive injury problems.

When varane and Shaw or Martinez make up the two CBs we are able to push the defense up the pitch. This reduces the vast spaces in midfield and we are in a better place to play high pressing and these attacking formations ten hag keeps trying to inpliment.

When mcguire plays especially, but also Lindelof and Evan's, we sit far too deep in defense. This opens up huge spaces in midfield and we are leaving one player - Casemiro or yesterday Mainoo alone to deal with multiple runners.

We desperately needed a new CB last summer and McGuire gone. Without that, our signings of onana and mount look odd. But we are not able to play in a way that will make them work.

This season is a write off. But if EtH doesn't (or can't? ) drop rashford, mcguire, mctominay and Martial to emergency use only then things will get much worse, and eth will not be here next season.

I think the fans would rather see young or new players trying and losing than watch these 4 players doing that again and again and again. I also thought Dalot was awful for the goal yesterday, but in previous games he has been good, so perhaps just switched off mentally. Reguilon has looked okay at LB, so play him!

21.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 20:45:13
Dodgy

You commented on Varane and how we are able to push up the pitch. So why is the manager playing Maguire and Shaw at CB?

Right now I think it is exposing ETH as a coach who is dithering and doesn’t have a true plan.

22.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 20:48:45
Sorry what aload of cobblers. half the team don't even try, it's unforgivable when supporters pay good money to watch them. and to say its only a game shows how little you understand. To many utd is everything and to see players not even running and trying makes our blood boil and rightly so.
Would like that team yesterday have 20 minutes with me and few supporters in a concealed room. they'll know what we think of them after that.

23.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 20:58:35
In reply to wazza further up…I guarantee u that rashford starts against Chelsea. I’d bet my house on it. Unfortunately he nearly seems undroppable which is weird, eth dropped him b4 for disciplinary reasons yet he won’t for crap performances. I don’t get it. As for the rest, I really am at the acceptance stage. We’re mediocre and mid table and it’s going to be a long road to success. I’ve accepted that so I don't get so annoyed every time we lose?‍♂️.

24.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 21:37:51
Tim, I think last night it all come to a head. Rashford has been exposed and we’ve all seen it. Now is the time for the manager to drop him. Antony isn’t good enough but he did more against Galatasaray than Rashford did against Newcastle, so if players are to be picked on form, the decision is an easy one.

25.) 03 Dec 2023
03 Dec 2023 22:03:07
I don't see anything developing, I don't see Ten Hag implementing a system.

I saw what Klopp was doing from day 1, yes his players physically weren't up to it, bit everyone could see what they were trying to do, the players were trying and buying into it.

At Newcastle i see what Howe is doing and his team are buying into it.

United players aren't, United only look dangerous on the counter using our forwards pace or hoping for a piece of magic, there isn't anything created from the system.

Newcastle and Liverpool are teams where the collective is greater than the sum of their parts, United are less than the sum of theirs and that is on the manager and coaches.

26.) 04 Dec 2023
04 Dec 2023 01:06:56
Redman

That is my point exactly. Eth is picking a team out of fear because he trusts these players to try.

Surely everyone can see that varane and shaw are better at CB than anything else we have available right now? But he has fallen out with varane. Really? Varane?

I think we all saw ronaldo as a trouble maker second time round, and most could see he needed to move. If varane spat his dummy out when coming back from injury and being on the bench at city - I actually support EtH. We can't have player power trying to pick the team nor influence the team. BUT how is this not resolved yet? How has EtH not got varane back on side and in the team?

27.) 04 Dec 2023
04 Dec 2023 06:38:57
I don’t know why we’re talking about varane, Maguire has been our best player for last two months whether some of you like it or not, he’s available every game snd someone ETH is relying on!
Redseven what do you want him to do come out and slaughter them in public? Then you’d be criticising him for that!
The club needed to get rid of players he didn’t want, simple! After watching ETH at Ajax and listening to him I’m guaranteeing majority of that 11 on Saturday aren’t capable of playing his idealistic football so it’s no wonder he’s struggling to implement a style with this lot!
However he shouldn’t get away with criticism!
His selection of martial anytime let alone at Newcastle is scandalous what was he expecting him to do, nowhere near up to it and shows zero enthusiasm!
If he starts him and rashford at Chelsea then he’s letting us all know that he accepts mediocrity and lack of effort which is unacceptable to me!
Watching rashford walk around is one of my biggest frustrations, it’s unbelievable how the bench can watch that and not act on it . It’s disgusting behaviour from a professional and makes a mockery of us fans paying extortionate money to watch these over paid and under worked players!
I’d sell rashford tomorrow! I’d sell martial too but realistically we’re not that lucky!

28.) 04 Dec 2023
04 Dec 2023 17:35:21
McGuire has been terrible, we camp on our box because he is terrified of pushing up. We have conceded the third most shots in the league from some of the weakest teams. He has been needed, but he is nowhere near the quality we need. Varane is a million miles better than him, but he has injury issues I agree.

29.) 04 Dec 2023
04 Dec 2023 20:01:23
But Maguire has a high win record so therefore we are a better team when he plays……?‍♂️?.

Lol. I hope that is sarcasm Tim ?.
