A summary of some updates I read which I want to share if permitted:

Garners camp aren’t sure yet whether he will stay or not this year. There’s a chance he goes and Iqbal gets a “chance” to stay around, but that’s speculation from his side.

Ten hag has rejected an enormous number of players that were suggested. Especially in the Frenkie role. He has an extremely specific idea and seems to believe Fred is closer than many of the names suggested. So it is strongly Frenkie or bust still.

Martial is extremely happy, ten hag had a very interesting chat with him recently. Before the first game. Presented some reports he himself had drawn up on Tony. Good and bad. He’s responded well.

Varane's minutes are being managed. Club don’t believe he’s capable of starting that often and needs management.

Amad is in the shop window for loans.

Hannibal has some offers they’ll look at in august.

There are concerns at some levels in the club with Shoretire and feeling he could go Gomes route of leaving the club. Some family pressure too.

Club are prepared for Ronaldo to go and actively looking at strikers and attacking options.

Thanks for update mbd, some new info there, thanks. Some corroboration with what I’ve read too, especially use of Fred.

Garner been unlucky preseason but hope he plays vs Villa. Hope he stays and rotates/ plays in the deeper midfield role - obviously if he’s ready and good enough.

Can see a lot of outgoing loans too.

Some interesting points there MBD. In particular the Ronaldo situation. By all accounts even though they're only friendlies in those three games Martial has been excellent, and by all accounts CR7 will expect to displace him. Honestly don't know who I'd run with in that scenario as for the first time ever I feel Martial deserves a chance. But then. we're talking about dropping our top scorer.

Think we are really building something and that Ronaldo will only upset the momentum. Greenwood (I know) got off to a flyer last season and was then dropped for Ronnie and I'd expect the exact same again (at martial expense this time) if he stays. I'd actually rather he went and we signed no body, than stays and puts the obvious improvements back a year, when he will go anyway.

Great and interesting post mbd.

Roonbest I now fully agree with you that it’s better if Ronaldo goes, although not necessarily that martial is the alternative or that we don’t sign a replacement striker.

Yea of course I'd rather we sign a striker if he goes, but I would genuinely believe him staying would be worse than him going with no one coming in.

Just a follow up to the above on Pellistri

United have apparently let Pellistri and his representatives know he isn’t expected to get a major chance this season.

Pellistri wants to be a starter for Uruguay and is climbing the ranks there. He knows he needs to play.

His representatives and him are looking for the best option for the upcoming season (and potentially long term) .

A loan to Fulham or Southampton would be good for Pellistri IMO. Premier League football so on the big stages of club football and help with his chances in the national team. United get a chance to see what he is capable of in the Premier League before making a decision on him long term.

Fair play mate - you could be right.

If CR7 goes we lose an almost guaranteed 20 goals. Can't see Martial getting that amount. More importantly it would mean we would be only one injury away from a seriously depleted strike force. So unless ETH is going to introduce one of the U23s a striker is desperately needed.

I’d send Pellistri to Ajax on loan to take the place of Antony.
